Sean Finelli Last Updated: January 29, 2025

The enchanting city of Paris offers an endless agenda of activities and attractions. Whether you’re eating, appreciating art, exploring the architecture, or learning the history of the city, you will be astounded by all the things to do in Paris with kids. Because of its iconic monuments and charming reputation, Paris has become a top family destination. Check out this guide to Paris with kids to make sure you maintain a perfect balance of learning and fun for the entire family!

Hey, we sell tours too!

While the information provided in this post is free, we also sell tours at very reasonable prices. If you’re visiting Paris, there’s no better way to see the city thank by joining a small group tour of Paris’s best landmarks. On our guided Paris tours, experience the ins and outs of the city, while you learn and ask questions along the way. Whether you’re enjoying the jaw-dropping views from atop the Eiffel Tower or exploring the Paris Catacombs, let us handle the details.

My First Louvre

With its iconic pyramid structure, location in the city center, and claim to fame as the home of the Mona Lisa, the Louvre is undoubtedly a Paris staple. You may marvel at Leonardo’s St. John the Baptist or Caravaggio’s Death of the Virgin, but your kids may not be as interested.

Luckily, the Louvre offers a tour that is specifically designed for families called My First Louvre. During this experience, families explore the most famous Louvre masterpieces in an engaging, yet concise tour. Tour guides will explain the hidden secrets behind the Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo, Egyptian paintings, and other distinguished French paintings.

Musee Fragonard

This isn’t just your run-of-the-mill natural history museum. You may notice some bones from humans and animals, but take a closer look. The museum calls the structures “anatomical oddities.” Most of the museum’s structures are skinned cadavers, allowing museum visitors to see bones, veins and organs. The dissected structures may seem a bit creepy, but for kids fascinated with science, anatomy or animals, this is definitely one of the more interesting things to do in Paris. The museum dates back to the 18th century and is still part of one of Paris’s oldest veterinary schools.

Jardin d’Acclimatation

This one’s truly for the kids. Parents, this is your chance to sit on a bench with a good book while the kids run and play until naptime. This beautiful garden in Paris opened up about 150 years ago and has become a hub for youth, fun and play.

The park functions today as a theme park, playground, nature exploration center and educational facility. Soar through the air with your little ones on the speed rockets or the swing carousel. Pose for that nice framed family picture for the living room in the Korean Garden.

Soon, the gardens will offer educational workshops for children in subjects like biodiversity, art and digital technologies. Getting hungry? Visit one of the five cafes or six gourmet food stands in the garden. This green garden offers both restful and adventurous activities for the family to enjoy outside of the congested city center.

Musee des Automates

If your first stop in Disney World is “It’s a Small World” then this museum is the place for you. The Musee Automates features 250 moving characters in seven different exhibition rooms. All of the characters are made inside of the museum’s factory. The “automats” can all move, telling both historical and fantastic tales. Even though it’s a quick stop, the many amusing and comical performances these moving puppets put on can definitely entertain the kids.

Paris Catacombs Tour

Paris Catacombs

Take a break from the art museums and cultural landmarks and seek out what lies below the streets of the City of Lights. Known as the “World’s largest grave,” the Paris Catacombs house the bones of more than six million people. If your kids are the type to dig scary stories and legends, our Paris Catacombs tour is a great fit for the family.

Uncover the myths and tales of the Catacombs, why they were built, and how they have been preserved. And hey, maybe you can experience the Catacombs with a true cataphile, Parisians who have self-professed themselves as Catacombs explorers and enthusiasts.

Musee de la Magie

Are your little ones the type to spend hours perfecting their first card trick? Or maybe they’ve been following the Harry Potter series religiously. Either way, here’s a quick stop in Paris for magicians-to-be. This museum showcases the history of magic from the 18th century to present day, complete with illusions, tricks and displays to spark your greatest curiosities about the world of magic.

There are also ongoing magic shows at the museum to keep the whole family engaged and on their toes for the next surprise. Located in La Marais neighborhood, this magical haven stands in the center of one of Paris’s most historic neighborhoods. Now, La Marais is home to some of the best French bakeries around. Maybe stop for a quick bite of croissant, madeleine or macaroon after your visit!
