The Metropolitan Museum of Art (Met) in New York City is an institution, to say the least. You can find European and American classics as well as some of the modern art scenes’ greatest artists like Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko. But like any experience, museums can be boring if you don’t understand or appreciate the story behind what you’re seeing.

We get it. So we wrote several easy-to-understand articles that will get you excited for your visit to the Met! Learning about the art you’ll see at the Metropolitan Museum will elevate your trip and help you see the most important pieces if you have a limited amount of time you can spend.
