Cancellation Policy

The Tour Guy three of the most beautiful cities in Italy

We understand that plans change. If you would like to cancel an existing booking, please review the questions and answers below and cancel through My Orders or send your request to Support@thetourguy.com.

Can I receive a refund?

Whether the Tour Guy (TTG) will issue a refund depends on two things (a) the type of tour booked, and (b) the timing of the cancellation.

For all small group tours and activities, other than a tour that includes the Colosseum, Rome 1 day, or any activity where only a ticket is purchased, TTG will issue you a cash refund of your purchase price only if TTG receives your cancellation request at least 24 hours before the scheduled local start time of the tour.

If you booked a private tour, TTG will issue you a cash refund of your purchase price only if TTG receives your cancellation request at least 7 days before the scheduled local start time of the tour.

Ticket only bookings such as the Vatican Museums or Paris Catacombs are nonrefundable once the tickets have been sent.

For any tour that includes the Colosseum, including Rome 1 day, TTG will issue you a cash refund of your purchase price only if TTG receives your cancellation request at least 35 days before the scheduled start of the tour. If canceled less than 35 days before the scheduled start of the tour, it is non-refundable. These terms must be accepted separately during checkout to make your reservation.

Is any refund or credit possible outside of the timelines stated above?

No.

Will there be a cancellation fee?

TTG will use best efforts to issue you a refund with no additional fees. However, TTG may have to charge a cancellation fee in certain cases, which will be deducted from your refund. The amount of any cancellation fee will depend on the tour, the circumstances of the cancellation, and the costs incurred by TTG as a result of the cancellation.

What if it’s not my fault that I had to cancel?

TTG’s cancellation policy applies to cancellations due to travel delays and unforeseen circumstances, so TTG recommends that you purchase travel insurance for your trip.

What happens if TTG cancels my booking?

Tours are subject to sudden and unexpected changes. If TTG has to modify or cancel a booking due to ordinary events, TTG will make best efforts to find an alternative tour that is acceptable to you. If an alternative is not acceptable or possible, TTG will offer you a full cash refund. However, if TTG has to cancel a booking due to certain major events, such as pandemic, war, the closing of international airports, or acts of God, TTG will issue you a credit voucher, valid for three years, equal to your purchase price, instead of a cash refund.
