There is no dress code for the Tower of London, however, be sure to wear comfortable shoes due to the uneven cobblestone throughout the tower. It’s also always a good idea to bring a rain jacket and umbrella.

March through October is high season. This is when the tower is the busiest and the hours are the longest. If you’re looking for smaller crowds, going in the off-season might be a better choice. 

How long should I spend at the Tower of London?

If you’re walking the grounds without a guide, you can expect to spend 3+ hours. This will include waiting to enter attractions and finding your way around. 

If you decide to take a tour, your guide will help you make the most of your time in about 2 hours. No lines or maps!
