10 Best Restaurants Near Gare du Nord and Paris Chunnel in 2025

Erica Forster Last Updated: December 5, 2024

Near Gare du Nord train & chunnel station and looking for a bite to eat? I know the feeling. Check out this list of my favorite restaurants and places to eat near Gare du Nord in Paris!

Pro travel tip: If you’re heading to Paris, bookmark this article in your browser so you can circle back to it when it’s time to make restaurant reservations.  After you sit down at one of these best restaurants near Gare du Nord and the Chunnel, check out our post on the foods you have to try in Paris so you won’t miss out.

Best Places to Eat Near Gare du Nord and Paris to London Chunnel

Gare du Nord is one of Paris’s biggest and busiest railway stations. If you’ll be in London before or after your trip, you’ll likely make a stop here since this is the station serving trains to the Channel Tunnel (or ‘Chunnel’ for short), which connects England and France. While the area is historically a working-class neighborhood and not as popular with tourists, don’t be afraid to venture out. Instead of grabbing a mediocre sandwich inside the train station, head to one of our best restaurants near Gare du Nord and the Chunnel, which are all within a ten-minute walk of the station.

Brasserie Bellanger

Photo provided by Brasserie Bellanger

€€ | French Brasserie | Outdoor Seating

Brasserie Bellanger prides itself on being a traditional French brasserie, showcasing a limited yet delicious menu that changes on a weekly basis, with fair prices and typical French food (think steak frites, sandwiches and amazing cheese). The owners place a lot of value on their local producers and you can even find a map of all the producers they source from on their website.

This is one of the best places to eat near Gare du Nord, especially since they’re one of the few quality restaurants in the area that take reservations on their website. Plus, they’re open 7 days a week – a rarity in Paris!

Address: 140 Rue du Faubourg Poissonnière, 75010 Paris | Tel: +33 9 54 00 99 65

Hours: 8AM – 12AM, Every day

Pleine Mer

€€ | Oyster Bar | Outdoor Seating

Pleine Mer is a no-nonsense oyster bar serving oysters from Cancale, in France’s Brittany region. They also offer wild smoked salmon and tarama, along with some regional breads and pastries. This is a great stop if you love oysters but don’t feel like going out to a fancy seafood restaurant. And if you have a train to catch, this spot might make the top of your list, since raw oysters can be served up quickly.

Les Arlots

€€ | French Bistro | Limited Outdoor Seating

A relaxed and inviting bistro with high quality French food that won’t disappoint. Les Arlots also offers great deals on two or three course lunch and dinner menus, which is a tasty way to try out multiple dishes.

If it’s on the menu, we suggest their sausage with aligot (a garlic cheese mash). We also highly recommend saving room for their homemade chocolate mousse for dessert!

Hours: Tues – Sat 12PM – 2:30PM | 6PM – 10:30PM

Le Daily Syrien

€ | Falafel | No Outdoor Seating

The walk to Le Daily Syrien from Gare du Nord is slightly more than ten minutes, but if you’re in the mood for falafel it’s worth it. This casual restaurant also sells newspapers, so don’t be confused by the news stands located just outside the front entrance.

The star here is the falafel sandwich, but there’s a variety of foods like shawarma, hummus and delicious breads. Le Daily Syrien is one of the best places near Gare du Nord for takeout food, which is convenient for travelers who are on the go. It’s also the least expensive restaurant on our list.

Le Tricycle Store

€ | Vegan and Vegetarian | Limited Outdoor Seating

If you’re vegan or traveling with someone who is, this one’s for you. Vegan food is harder to find in Paris than in certain parts of the US, but luckily this lunch spot is in walking distance of Gare du Nord. Their specialty is vegan hot dogs, but they also offer different fruit bowls, salads and smoothies. Eating at Le Tricycle Store will also give you an interesting insight into Paris’s hipster side, so head here if you’re looking to find somewhere a bit more off the beaten path.

€€ | French Bistro | Limited Outdoor Seating

An authentic French bistro that provides quick turnaround time for those who want a sit down meal near the station but still don’t have too much time to kill. Chez Michel is only four minutes from Gare du Nord, making it the shortest walk out of all the restaurants on our list.

Once inside, you’ll find a charming and rustic atmosphere with friendly servers, most of whom speak English. Their fish soup is a client favorite, as is the Paris-Brest pastry on their dessert list.

Address:10 Rue de Belzunce, 75010 Paris, France | Tel: +33 1 44 53 06 20

€€ | Bar and Restaurant | Indoor Seating Only

In case you’re craving more than just food when you get into Paris, we’re including Sape Bar on our list of best places to eat near Gare du Nord. The bar is located inside the 25 Hours Terminus Nord Hotel, which is directly across the street from the station. A quiet yet trendy atmosphere awaits you, complete with a modern African theme.

Besides a great cocktail list, Sape Bar does also offer a few small plates including items like hamburgers, egg rolls and falafels. The prices are in line with the quality of their food and drink, making this a great choice.

Address:12 Boulevard de Denain, 75010 Paris | Tel: +33 1 42 80 82 21

Hours: Sun – Thurs 5PM – 1AM | Fri – Sat 5PM – 2AM

La Riviera

Photo provided by La Riviera

€€ | Southern French | Indoor Seating Only

As you might have guessed by the name, La Riviera’s menu focuses on food from the French Riviera in the south of France. A large percentage of their menu, including the wine list, is organic. Their pizza is incredibly fresh and made with a homemade tomato sauce and a flour mixture that they purchase from a locally owned, small scale flour mill.

On weekdays, they offer a lunch special where you can get either an appetizer and main course or a main course and dessert for 17 euros. This is a great deal for a quality restaurant in Paris! Plus, they’re open early in the morning in case you have an early train to catch.

Address: 118 Rue la Fayette, 75010 Paris | Tel: +33 1 42 63 06 05

Khua Nong Mai

€€ | Thai & Vietnamese | Some Outdoor Seating

If you’re in the mood for Asian food, this spot that specializes in Thai and Vietnamese cuisine has what you’re looking for. All of the food is homemade and you can usually find the owner serving her customers on a daily basis. The bahn-mi sandwich and bo bun are delicious, but the shrimp pad thai is out of this world. This is one of the top convenient, casual and inexpensive places to eat near Gare du Nord.

Address: 10 Rue Condorcet, 75009 Paris | Tel: +33 9 82 30 20 40

Hours: Mon – Sat 11:30AM – 3:30PM | 5:30PM – 7:30PM

Abri

€€€ | Bistro | One Michelin Star

Abri, which means ‘shelter’, is a small bistro run by a Japanese team who are passionate about creating a fusion of Parisian and Japanese flavors. The restaurant earned one Michelin star in 2019, and because of its popularity you’ll likely need to book a few weeks in advance. A tasting menu is offered during lunchtime and on Saturdays which is a great value for money.

Les Rendez-Vous italiens

Photo provided by Les Rendez-vous italiens

€€ | Italian | Some Outdoor Seating

Pizza and pasta make up the majority of this Italian restaurant’s menu. Their pizzas, though, are actually called piadinas, which are more like a flatbread, so it’s a good choice if you’re looking for something filling but still light. The panna cotta and tiramisu are home made, so save room for dessert!
