The Authentic Souvlaki
£ | Greek | Big Portions
Kicking off this list of restaurants near the Tower of London, we have one of the best spots to pick up some fast, delicious food that will keep you full. The perfect place to stop before making your way to the tower, the Authentic Souvlaki is located in the Fenchurch Street Station market.
It’s an unassuming stall staffed by passionate cooks who are committed to bringing authentic Greek food to London at a very reasonable price. The lunch boxes are what we recommend.
You can get a Chicken and Halloumi box with pita and salad for only £8. You can grab one with fries for only £1.50 more. It can be hard to find good food on the cheap in London, but these guys make it easy.
Address: 60 Fenchurch St
Club Gascon
£££ | Michelin Star | French
Our first Michelin-starred restaurant near the Tower of London, Club Gascon specializes in dishes sourced in the Southwest Gascony region of France. Established in a former tea house, much of the original marble and stunning architecture is still intact.
Their varied tasting menu changes with the season and offers a wide assortment of delicacies, like Mackerel and Caviar, Quail in Oysters Sauce, and Black Truffle with Holy Honey and Pear.
Arriving in seven courses, this will run you £130 and £190 if you’d like it paired with wine selected by the in-house sommelier. Just so you know, you’ll have to make reservations to get a seat, but it’s definitely worth the trouble.

SUSHISAMBA
££££ | Fusion | Great View
If you’re looking for a great view to accompany food you won’t find anywhere else, then SUSHISAMBA should be on your list. Located on the 38th floor of the Heron Tower with stunning views of the Tower of London and the Thames, it has some of the more unique offerings in the city.
A Japanese-Brazilian-Peruvian fusion restaurant, SUSHISAMBA is probably the only place where you can get yellowtail in a taquito. Their selection of rolls is incredibly imaginative: the El Topo with salmon, jalapeno, and melted mozzarella or the Sasa with shrimp tempura and Padron pepper. There are tons of great sushi spots in London, but you’re simply not going to find these offerings anywhere else.
Address: Heron Tower, 110 Bishopsgate
De Vine
£ | Big Portions | Locals Love It
Okay, let’s take a break from the big-figure price tags. As the name suggests, De Vine can be found on Vine Street, just a short walk from the Tower of London. With a modest café atmosphere, you can grab a full-sized English breakfast served with steak fries and a coffee for about £5. Their chicken curry is great too.
The locals love it, and you can dependably feed a huge group at a modest price. You’ll have to walk all that off, so it’s the perfect place to head before visiting the Tower or crossing the London Bridge.
Address: 19 Vine St, Tower
DF Tacos
£ | Mexican | Modern Setting
Another place that won’t break the bank, DF Tacos serves up authentic Mexican food in a cozy, modern space on Hanbury Street. You can get a burrito stuffed with your choice of protein, pickled onions, and avocado mojo salsa for only £8. And they offer bottomless Agua Fresca to go with it for about £3.
We’d definitely recommend heading here if you’re with a group. A lot of places skimp on the protein in their tacos, but not these guys. And with a side of chips and guacamole to go around, everyone’s sure to leave happy.
Address: The Old Truman Brewery, Hanbury St, Spitalfields
Aqua Shard
££££ | Great Brunch | Authentic British
What a view! Aqua Shard presents modern British food with a stunning thirty-one-story, wraparound view of Greater London from the iconic Shard. A great place for an elegant brunch, Aqua Shard offers a wide range of wonderfully crafted breakfast and a la carte options, like fluffy Buttermilk pancakes and caramelized scallops.
Yet the main event here is definitely the Forgotten British menu, where chefs Matthew Fort and Anthony Garlando revive traditional British dishes and the stories that go with them.
Seriously, everything on this four-course menu, from the Roasted cep mushrooms on toast to the Cornish red mullet, comes with a printed history. It’s what elevates this high-quality restaurant to a must-visit historical treasure trove. By the way, the dress code excludes shorts or flip-flops, so keep that in mind!

Awarded with one Michelin star and located on the 24th floor of Tower 42 on Old Broad Street, City Social serves modern British food in a high-end experience.
Equipped with a varied a la carte menu, you might find yourself a little overwhelmed. We’d definitely recommend the Hamachi ceviche with langoustine tartare or the Sea Bass with Jerusalem artichoke.
Though, you really can’t go wrong with anything at City Social. It’s one of the finest restaurants near the Tower of London and is the perfect spot for a romantic dinner for two.
Be sure to make room for dessert. Their Banana souffle with rum and raisin ice cream is fantastic. It’s definitely one of the most elegant restaurants near the Tower of London!

The Duck & Waffle
£££ | 24/7 Brunch | Unique
Also located in the Shard and open 24 hours, The Duck & Waffle keeps things light and playful with a menu built to share. As the name suggests, these guys specialize in, well, ducks and waffles. Served beside fried duck eggs and smothered with mustard maple syrup, it pairs perfectly with their bottomless cocktails.
They serve brunch all day, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t great dinner options. Simple dishes like the Whole Roasted Corn Fed Chicken come to life in their elegant preparation. We’d also recommend the Native Breed Rib of Beef, aged for 40 days.
Address: 110 Bishopsgate, London (Heron Tower) – 40th floor
Great British Fish and Chips
£ | Fast and Cheap | Guilty Pleasure
A list of restaurants near the Tower of London would be incomplete without this classic. Fast, cheap, and delicious, Great British Fish and Chips keeps it simple. Piled high with thick-cut chips, their fried fish and chicken platters go for only a few pounds. You’ll want to grab a slushie too, especially on a hot day.
Located right along the Thames, this is a great place to grab a quick bite before heading to the tower or just when you feel like making your tastebuds happy. And if you’re not stuffed already, their apple pie with ice cream is pretty good too!
Address: Unit 2 Western Pavillion, Tower Hill
Galvin La Chapelle
££££ | French and Italian | Michelin Star
Combining French and Italian cuisine, this Michelin-star restaurant doesn’t cut corners when it comes to delivering one of the best restaurants near the Tower of London. Starters like the Lasagne of Dorset crab serve as a wonderful prologue to the main course.
We’d recommend Roast supreme of pheasant, pommes Anna, chanterelles, sprout tops and red cabbage purée. However, the Winter Truffle risotto is fantastic and filling if you’re a vegetarian looking for a delightful and surprising dish.
These dishes hover around £40, but if you don’t mind the extra expense, try the Menu Gourmand. Every dish is paired with a specially selected wine and includes such options as the Roast magret of duck and luxurious foie gras.
