The Best “Super Expensive” Hotels In Barcelona
These are the poshest, most luxurious, and most accommodating places to stay in Barcelona. Keep your eyes peeled for movie stars, but if you are staying here you probably are one!
“Super Expensive” Prices: Expect to pay over $315 for standard rooms in these hotels which is super reasonable compared to this category in Rome or Paris. Most of these hotels have epic suites which can price beyond $10k/night 3 bedroom presidential suite at “The W” which comes with DJ turntables.
That obviously will vary, so click the link which will take you to Booking.com to see prices.
W Barcelona
5 Star | €€€€ | Modern | Beachfront | Rooftop Pool
The W Barcelona is one hell of a hotel. They have ridiculous suites costing $10k/night outfitted with DJ equipment to standard rooms with king beds and partial water views for under $400/night.
The price for a standard room is actually very reasonable considering how luxurious the hotel is, the location, and that it is basically the nicest hotel in Barcelona. This is an excellent choice for those of you who want a nice hotel and are ok taking a taxi to visit the main sites of the city. It is easily one of the best hotels in Barcelona.
Casagrand Luxury Suities
4 Star | €€€€ | Luxury Suites | Eixample | Rooftop Plunge Pool | Family Friendly
Casagrand is my #1 pick for multi-generational or multi-family travel. Even single family travels since they do have a smaller suite. Why?
I am not a huge AirBnB fan when visiting cities for many reasons, but mostly because I like a front desk. Casagrand is a serviced apartment rental building with beautiful apartments that are pretty reasonable if you are traveling with other groups.
They offer a ton of privacy and the building is not over-run with other guests. These types of listings get me super excited about traveling and while I have not personally stayed here, I will definitely be checking it out in the near future.
El Palauet Barcelona
5 Star Hotel | €€€€+ | Eixample/Passieg de Gràcia | Luxury Suites
This hotel focuses on luxury suites and they do it very well. Entry-level suites, which are anything but entry level, start just shy of a grand per night.
The finishes are extremely refined and the building is pristine. You’ll see everything from ornate stained glass to hand-carved wood finishes. Another big plus is that the hotel is mostly suites so it won’t be crowded with people.
Hotel Arts Barcelona
5 Star Hotel | €€€€ | Barcelonetta/Beach | Modern | Rooftop Pool
Hotel Arts is a pretty sexy hotel in Barcelona with a killer rooftop pool right on the beach. While it is definitely upscale and the price reflects that I still think you could stay here with your kids and have a great time in Barcelona.
Mandarin Oriental
5 Star Hotel | €€€€+ | Eixample/Passieg de Gràcia | Rooftop Pool
As a hotel group, the Mandarin Oriental consistently makes some of the nicest and most stylish hotels in the world which is why they end up at the top of every “best hotels” list in any city they open up.
The Barcelona location is no different which you will see upon arrival. Beautiful and spacious rooms furnished to the nines inside hotels with wonderful amenities. An amazing rooftop pool and lounge, multiple restaurants, common areas, and more. The Mandarin Oriental really makes the decision easier.
El Palace Hotel Barcelona
5 Star Hotel | €€€ | Eixample | Rooftop Pool
I really like this hotel for a few reasons. First, the location is just about the best in the entire city. This is because it is near all the great shops of Eixample & Passieg de Gràcia, but walking distance to the Gothic quarter which is super picturesque for day-time strolls.
The hotel itself is incredibly reasonable in terms of pricing. This level of hotel in Paris or Rome would cost twice the price for a standard room. This is an easy choice for anyone that wants a great hotel in a great area at a great price.
The Best “Expensive” Hotels In Barcelona
The “Expensive” category is slightly more accessible, but expect to spend top dollar for the luxury of these hotels.
“Expensive” Prices: While the prices of hotels change rapidly, expect these hotels to range from $250 to $315 per night for a range of rooms. That obviously will vary, so click the link which will take you to Booking.com to see prices.
Almanac Barcelona
5 Star Hotel | €€€ | Eixample | Luxury & Modern | Rooftop Pool
I love this hotel for many reasons but above all the design and location. The soft earth-tone colors are relaxing which is what you really need on vacation. Sitting on the balcony and having a fresh-squeezed orange juice would be a dream come true.
It is also in this perfect little pocket very close to everything. You could walk into the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona or hang around Passeig de Gràcia and do some shopping.
They also have some killer deals for their “buy now, stay later” feature on the site. Flexible stays for the future at discounted rates. I love it!
Cotton House Hotel, Autograph Collection
5 Star | €€ | Modern Luxury | Eixample | Rooftop Pool
The Cotton House is a really nice hotel at a great price with some beautiful common areas. There is a fantastic rooftop pool, beautiful bistro-looking restaurant among other beautiful spaces.
It is a very nice hotel at an even better price. I highly recommend taking a peek at this one and considering a typology upgrade to get more space.
The One Barcelona
5 Star | €€€ | Eixample/Passieg de Gràcia | Incredible Facilities | Rooftop Pool
With a name like “The One” you’d hope it would be an easy choice and it is. Very reasonable prices per night given how nice property is combined with a rooftop pool and some incredible on-premises bars and restaurants makes it…the one.
I recommend picking a room with a balcony as it adds to the experience!

The Best “Mid-Range Lux” Hotels In Barcelona
These rooms will start looking more and more obtainable but they are definitely not cheap. Barcelona, in general, is not an expensive city, but the hotels often leave you wondering what you spent your money on. This category will include comfortable nice accommodation that is anything but cheap yet still will make you feel good about your hotel.
“Mid-Range Lux” Prices: While the prices of hotels change rapidly, expect these hotels to range from $175 to $250 per night for a standard room. That obviously will vary, so click the link which will take you to Booking.com to see prices.
Sir Victor Hotel
5 Star | €€ | Eixample/Passeig de Gràcia | Rooftop Pool
Barcelona hotels can be insanely nice at super low prices compared to other major EU cities, and Sir Victor is a great example.
Sir Victor is a great hotel, with modern rooms, a beautiful pool, and excellent reviews. For me it is an easy option as a romantic, family-friendly, or simply a nice hotel.
Hotel Neri Relais & Chateaux
5 Star | €€ | Gothic Quarter | Relias and Chateaux Boutique | Romantic
Hotel Neri looks like the perfect hotel for romantic couples in my eyes. It is situated right in the Gothic Quarter which is great for fun nights out and peaceful strolls.
The hotel itself is modern and has a lot of fun features. Some of the rooms have outdoor bathtubs which are totally risqué and fun! That appears to be in the “Deluxe room with Terrace” only.
Grand Hotel Central
5 Star | Barcelona Cathedral | Modern | Rooftop Pool
Grand Hotel Central is a modern hotel with great location at a good price which makes it an easy choice. There is a fantastic rooftop pool and cool dining facilities on site. It is just outside the Gothic Quarter which means easy access to history, beaches, and lots to do.
Ohla Barcelona
5 Star | €€ | Gothic Quarter | Contemporary Upscale | Rooftop Pool
Ohla is a real gem because it is a large contemporary hotel in the Gothic Quarter that is priced reasonably. Standard rooms sit in the mid 200s which means you can upgrade to a larger typology if you have a stronger budget.
Nobody “needs” a huge layout when they travel but it sure is nice!
The Best “Low-Cost” Hotels In Barcelona
Barcelona makes this category so easy since there are so many amazing hotels at incredibly low prices in this city. Spain in general is a lot less expensive than other parts of Europe which makes Barcelona so attractive as a destination.
“Low-Cost” Prices: While the prices of hotels change rapidly, expect these hotels to range from $100 to $175 per night for standard rooms.
Pricing will obviously vary, so click the link which will take you to Booking.com to see prices. Anything below $100/night is a crapshoot. If you want even cheaper, you can also go to Booking.com and look for the cheapest hotels in the center.
Hotel SB Glow
4 Star | € | Modern | Rooftop Pool | Family Friendly
Beautiful 4 star hotel in a great location of Barcelona with an epic rooftop pool. The prices are too good to be true so book sooner than later!
Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel
5 Star | € | Spacious | Waterfront | Rooftop Pool
It is rare that 5 Star hotels cost less than $200, but Eurostars is a spacious and luxurious hotel at low costs. If you have a larger budget consider upgrading to a larger room typology.
The location is unique in that you are not super connected to the center so consider what you are traveling to Barcelona for. This may be more of a couples hotel in my opinion as you will likely be taking a lot of taxis and that can get hectic with small children.
If you are traveling for a romantic vacation, this hotel has stunning views of Montjuïc and the rest of Barcelona so it will definitely make our “Sexy Hotel” list!
Hotel Catalonia Catedral
4 Star | Updated | Rooftop Pool
Hotel Catalonia Catedral is a clean, comfortable, and centrally located hotel with a great rooftop pool. This makes it excellent for families, couples, and travelers on a budget.
