L’illa Restaurant

This restaurant is in the little town of Collbattó, which is about a 30 minute ride from the Abbey of Montserrat. Sometimes when I am travelling, I like to go visit little towns to get a super local feel. That is what you will get when you come here.
They are only open for lunch so it is perfect if you have just finished visiting the Abbey of Montserrat. You can go directly with a set menu they have or order a la carte. There is something for everyone here and it will not disappoint.

Restaurant Abat Cisneros

This is definitely the best option if you are looking for a nice, sit-down meal. As you walk in, it seems like you are in a cave-like atmosphere which adds to the cool atmosphere.
Lunch will set you back around 35 euros per person including wine. The price vs quality ratio is great and the menu consists of various meat and fish options.

As you can imagine by the name, this is a Cafeteria. It is no frills and to the point. It is also one of the most convenient places to eat when you are in a hurry. There is no reason to sugarcoat it, but the food is decent for what you pay.
I have eaten here and the food honestly isn’t bad. They have a wide array of choices and there is definitely something for everyone. Many people eat here for the convenience, since it is right next to the Abbey of Montserrat.

So this restaurant is in the town of Monistrol of Montserrat and about 8 miles or a 20 minute car ride from the Monastery. It is by far one of the best restaurants in the area, so if you happen to be coming by car, then this is a great place to sit down for lunch or dinner after leaving the Monastery.
They tend to offer 3-course lunch meals that include wine. While the price varies, the actual price vs quality ratio is quite good. The wine they serve is local and goes perfectly with the food.

This restaurant is about a 15 minute drive from the Abbey. It is next to the river and is no frills. I feel that sometimes simple is better when that is the original plan of the owners. That is the case here. When you walk in, you will be greeted with a smile and it will feel like you have gone back in time a bit.
The restaurant is a lunch place and has a simple menu format. They offer you a set menu which costs 13 euros during the week and 15 euros on Saturday or Sunday. This includes their house wine. Enjoy!

So this little gem is in a little town called El Bruc which is about 30 minutes from the Abbey. It is located inside a natural reserve and that is part of what makes it special.
Their menu changes daily and they only use fresh, local ingredients. This restaurant is perfect if you are planning to stay the entire day, outside of Barcelona. This way in the morning you visit the abbey, then come here for a 3-hour lunch in the countryside.
