The 14 BEST HOTELS in Florence in 2025

Sean Finelli Last Updated: December 5, 2024

Finding the right hotel in Florence can really add to your experience in the Renaissance Capital of Europe. There are hotels with rooftop restaurants, pools, amazing views, and incredible rooms. This list is the absolute best hotel in Florence at every price point. We’ll let you know what to expect from the hotel and if the area is good for you!

Pro Tip: Planning what to do on your trip to Florence? Bookmark this post in your browser so you can easily find it when you need it. Check out our guide to Florence for more planning resources, our best Florence tours for a memorable trip, and how to see Florence in a day (with itinerary).

14 of the Best Florence Hotels to Stay at This Year

While this list most definitely includes Florence’s most expensive hotels it does not ONLY include the most expensive ones. We have four categories covered in this order:

  • Super Expensive
  • Expensive
  • Kind of Affordable (Mid-Range Luxury)
  • Low Cost

Our Partnership with Booking.com. If you like our content, please book by clicking on our Booking.com links. The price is the same for you, and we get a small commission that helps support our blog. We’ve partnered with Booking.com because they have the most options, great prices, and a solid loyalty program. Just about every hotel is on Booking, so our recommendations are not incentivized.

The Best “Super Expensive” Hotels in Florence

“Super Expensive” Prices: Expect to pay over $450/night in June for standard rooms in these hotels. Most of these hotels have epic suites which can price beyond $30k/night. That obviously will vary, so click the link which will take you to Booking.com to see prices.

Brunelleschi Hotel

€€€€+ | 4 Star | Upscale Boutique | Near Duomo

There is a reason why when you book a room at a Marriot you aren’t as concerned about what room typology you’re going to get. You pay $75 extra per night for a few extra square feet and a view of the pool. At the Brunelleschi in Florence, you get a better room because it will start looking more and more like you are staying in a castle.

We’ve worked with Brunelleschi Hotel for years via our trip planning service and sister brand, Finelli & Shaw, and we consistently get positive feedback from customers. Their hotel is simply very cool and well decorated. It’s the only 4-star hotel in our “Super Expensive” category in really any city we cover. That is because the location is perfect, the building is so cool, and the hotel has excellent service.

Hotel Savoy by Rocco Forte

€€€€+ | 5 Star | Refined Luxury | Center of Florence

Hotel Savoy is an extremely luxurious and meticulously decorated hotel which is probably why they can charge so much for a room. They are not cheap on space nor service so if you have the budget it is a fine option.

The hotel is right in downtown Florence and within walking distance to the Duomo, Accademia, Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, and pretty much everything in the city. If you have the money and want a super accommodating hotel this is the place to be.

Hotel Savoy is owned and operated by the Rocco Forte hotel group and family who have some great locations including the historic Hotel de Russie in Rome.

The Westin Excelsior

The Westin Excelsior

€€€€+ | 5 Star | Luxurious & Grand | Ponte Vecchio | Rooftop Restaurant

The Westin has many great properties throughout the world and this one is no exception. The structure is massive with many rooms of varied typologies. There is a rooftop restaurant that has some of the best views in Florence.

If you are looking for a large accommodation with tons of amenities in the center, the Westin is a great option.

Location, Photos, & Booking

Hotel Lungarno Florence

€€€€+ | 5 Star | Luxury | Santo Spirito

Hotel Lungarno is part of the Ferrragamo owned Lungarno collection and the group makes great hotels. Each hotel is meticulously decorated and positioned to create a more memorable experience for its guests.

Hotel Lungarno sits in an incredible location near Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery which makes it an ideal choice. Beyond that, it is simply an extremely nice hotel. You have to imagine that the hotel was opened by the owners of one of the world’s greatest fashion houses which says a lot about its decor and design.

My contact at Lungarno, Paola, told me the hotel was designed by a Florentine architect named Michele Bönan. Well, the world thanks you Michele!

The Best “Expensive” Hotels in Florence

“Expensive” Prices: While the prices of hotels change rapidly, expect these hotels to range from $300 to $449/night in June for a range of rooms. That obviously will vary, so click the link which will take you to Booking.com to see prices.

Gallery Hotel Art

€€€€ | 4 Star | Contemporary | Ponte Vecchio/Uffizi

Gallery Hotel Art is part of the Lungarno Collection which is owned by Salvatore Ferragamo family. They have a few hotels in Florence including Hotel Lungarno, above, and Portrait Firenze.

This particular property is one of my favorites due to its apparent uniqueness. The rooms have cool architectural designs mixed with calm colors that both stimulate the senses while taking stress out of the air.

Hotel degli Orafi

Hotel degli Orafi

€€€ | 4 Star | Rooftop Bar | Ponte Vecchio/Uffizi

Hotel Degli Orafi is in a great location. It is just behind the Uffizi Gallery and within walking distance to Ponte Vecchio. That means you are within walking distance to the Santo Spirito neighborhood across the Ponte Vecchio which is home to tons of great restaurants. You are also nearby the Uffizi Gallery which is the best museum in Florence – definitely worth a small group tour!

Finally, you can walk to the Santa Croce neighborhood which is home to the Basilica of Santa Croce, and Mercato di Sant’Ambrogio which is a cool place to grab street food.

Hotel Regency

Hotel Regency Florence
Photo Thanks to Hotel Regency

€€€€ | 5 Star | Small Luxury Hotel | Family Friendly

Hotel Regency is a small but very nice hotel on the edge of central Florence. I wouldn’t say it is “far” from anything because just like I will mention with some other hotels, downtown Florence is so small that everything is nearby. You can easily walk to Accademia where Michelangelo’s David is housed in about 10 minutes.

A big reason I like this hotel is they have a nice outdoor garden and seating area which will allow you to unwind after a long day walking around the city.

The Best “Mid-Range Lux” Hotels in Florence

“Mid-Range Lux” Prices: While the prices of hotels change rapidly, expect these hotels to range from $201 to $300/night in June for a standard room. That obviously will vary, so click the link which will take you to Booking.com to see prices.

Plaza Hotel Lucchesi

Photo thanks to Plaza Hotel Lucchesi

€€€ | 4 Star | Rooftop Pool | Sata Croce

I really like Plaza Hotel Lucchesi for many reasons. First, it has an epic pool on the roof which is great for a hot summer day. It is also simply a nice hotel with classic charms.

The map may make it seems like it is “far” from all the action in Florence, but Florence is simply so small that this is an optical illusion. You can be at the Uffizi Gallery in less than 10 minutes by foot. It is well connected to the entire city reasonably by foot and near some great restaurants. This is why it gets my thumbs up!

Hotel Monna Lisa

Hotel Monna Lisa Florence

€€ | 4 Star | Family-Friendly | Near Duomo

When I am not traveling and filming our youtube channel or writing articles like this one, I am normally tending to my flowers. I simply love nature which presents a big struggle when I am planning a vacation in a crowded city. This is why I love hotels like Monna Lisa. There is a nice garden that is tucked away from the crowds and commotion.

These types of open spaces and gardens not only make it great for families but absolutely magical for kids. Italians love children so you could easily sit in the garden and enjoy a glass of wine while your kids run free.

Galileo 2000 B&B

Photo thank to Galileo B&B 2000

€€€ | 4 Star Hotel | Elegant Design | Uffizi

Galileo 2000 B&B is a nice and centrally located B&B near the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. One of the coolest things about the hotels is the classic furniture and design in each room. The rooms are also slightly more spacious than your average European hotel room.

Location, Photos, & Booking

Hotel Pitti al Ponte Vecchio

Hotel Pitti Palace al Ponte Vecchio
Photo thanks to Hotel Pitti Palace

€€€ | 4 Star | Rooftop Restaurant | Ponte Vecchio

Hotel Pitti Palace is located just across the Ponte Vecchio from all the “main” attractions in Florence. It is just down the street from the former Medici Residence known as the Pitti Palace which is a museum in itself. The hotel is nice and priced reasonably low. It has a great rooftop restaurant with excellent views of Florence. A great modest choice.

Location, Photos, & Booking

The Best “Low-Cost” Hotels in Florence

“Low-Cost” Prices: While the prices of hotels change rapidly, expect these hotels to range from $125 to $200/night in June for standard rooms – $200 may not sound cheap, but welcome to Italy.

There are definitely hotels that are cheaper, but at a certain price per night, you’re shooting fish in a barrel. These are vetted low-cost/good-value options! Pricing will obviously vary, so click the link which will take you to Booking.com to see prices.

Palazzo Uguccioni Apartments

Palazzo Uguccioni Apartments

€ | Apartments | Near Uffizi

Palazzo Uguccioni Apartments is an excellent choice for families or multi-generational groups that don’t need all the bells and whistles that go along with a hotel.

It is inexpensive and right in the heart of Florence. What is not to love?

Borghese Palace Art

Borghese Palace Art Best Cheap Hotels Florence

€€ | 4 Star | Clean & Contemporary | Uffizi Gallery

The Borghese Palace Art hotel is an interesting choice. It is a clean and nice hotel with some amenities like a gym and comfortable rooms. I think its a safe choice for a work trip or adventurous travelers who want to spend less on a room and more on activities in Florence.

Location, Photos, & Booking

Aqa Palace

Aqa Palace Florence
Photo thanks to Aqa Palace Florence

€€ | Santa Croce | Rooms & Apartments

This is a pretty cool choice with good value. It is a well layed-out and neatly decorated ancient palazzo featuring rooms and apartments. It is an excellent choice for families looking for more space.

You would likely see me here in the room featured above if traveling with the wife and kids. I truly believe that a little extra room and fresh air goes a long when traveling with the children.

You’d also get the option of getting take-out for your balcony which would save you the stress of trying to keep the kids stationary during dinner. A stressful dinner out could be replaced by a super-memorable and enjoyable night on the balcony drinking wine and dancing to music with your kids!
