The Best Family-Friendly Places To Stay in Venice
For me, family-friendly doesn’t mean that they have a little sticker on their site that says “we love kids!” It means that you as a parent will be able to relax at the hotel because it is accommodating to kids. I’m not talking about the staff—Italians adore children, so you’ll have no problem with that at any hotel in Italy.
I look for a few things when selecting a great hotel or rental property when traveling with my kids. First is space for kids to move around. That could be a rooftop, courtyard, or nearby park. I also like larger rooms, so you don’t feel cramped. These hotels either have larger rooms or they’re on the cheaper side, so you can upgrade your room.
A pool is also a big bonus, but you can’t find that everywhere. Traffic is a big concern for me, so I avoid properties on high-traffic streets. I break that rule occasionally if the hotel is also close to a peaceful park or pedestrian area where the kids can run around.
The hotels and apartments on this list take all these factors into consideration. Without further ado, here are the top family-friendly places to stay in Venice.
Pro Tip: When traveling with kids, don’t overwhelm them with sightseeing if they are 7 and under. Plan three-hour activities that are less ambitious before returning to a place where they can play. You can even sightsee for longer than that if you get in an hour’s playground break. Here are some great playgrounds in Venice.

JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa
€€€€ | 5 Star | EPIC | Family Friendly | Pool
The JW Marriott in Venice is honestly one of the most amazing destinations in Venice and a great family-friendly choice if you have a very healthy budget for rooms. They have about a million pools on the premises and all of them are incredible. Your kids will love it.
It’s worth noting that this hotel is fairly far from the main island cluster, but don’t stress too much. Traveling with kids is best done by taking things slow and understanding you may not be able to see everything.
Palazzo Morosini Degli Spezieri
€€€ | Apartments/Suites | San Paolo | Side Canal | Family Friendly
I really like this location. Basically, it’s a building full of beautifully furnished apartments in Venice. Every unit has a dishwasher, oven, and other basic kitchen appliances.
Many units have balconies, living rooms, and even multiple bedrooms. This is likely where I would stay if I was traveling with my wife and kids. It’s perfect for families or groups that appreciate some independence and space.

Sina Centurion Palace
€€€ | 5 Star | Dorsoduro | Beautiful Architecture | Modern Design | Quieter
The Sina Centurion Palace is one of my favorite properties in Venice for a romantic vacation but it could work with kids as well. They do an amazing job mixing classic Venetian architecture with modern design and touches.
There are multiple areas for dining and lots of amazing views. It’s a fantastic way to stay at a very nice hotel at a reasonably expensive price. Staying in Dorsoduro is also a treat.
You’ll find yourself in a part of Venice that has much less foot traffic than St. Mark’s Square but amazing views. It’s ideal if you have to watch over your little ones. You can still easily walk to the main areas of Venice and be in St. Mark’s within 20 minutes on foot.
Cipriani, a Belmond Hotel, Venice
€€€€+ | 5 Star | Giudecca | Resort Luxury | Family Friendly | Pool
The Cipriani is arguably the nicest hotel in Venice, which is reflected in its price per night. You can spend over a thousand dollars for a standard room and use the hotel pool or pay a few thousand per night and have your own private soaking hot tub.
It’s another great choice for kids because they have tons of room for them to run around. But it will come at a premium. If you have a big budget and want to feel like you’re in the action but not be in the action, this is a great choice!
Hilton Molino Stucky Venice
€€€ | Giudecca | Rooftop Pool | Family Friendly | Pool
The Hilton Molino Stucky is right up my alley. First of all, I neither want nor can spend $400+ per night on a hotel room. It just isn’t my thing. Second, I love a good rooftop pool and the Molino Stucky gives you a baller luxury experience for less than you’d pay at other comparable hotels.
I also love that this hotel is in Giudecca, which is not part of the main island cluster of Venice. The hotel has a private taxi that’s free for hotel guests to and from St. Mark’s Square, which makes staying here a solid option.
This is a super tempting option when visiting Venice with a romantic partner or with the family. Basically, it’s great for any type of traveler willing to spend a few hundred dollars per night on a room.
Casin dei Spiriti
€€ | Apartments | Modern | Cannaregio | Family Friendly
These really chic apartments in Cannaregio are perfect for groups traveling together or families. While I have not personally visited this property, it appears there’s a central courtyard that would be ideal for kids to run around.
These apartments are modern and cool at a great price. However, they are quite far on foot from the main attractions like St. Mark’s Square. So, keep that in mind.
Hotel Giorgione
€€ | 4 Star | Pool | Cannaregio | Family Friendly | Pool
This boutique-style hotel has comfortable amenities and a small pool in the courtyard! It’s a great place for families with kids because, although the pool is small, they’ll have a great time in it.
The courtyard is also great for kids to run around, which makes this a great choice for families on a budget. It’s a pretty inexpensive hotel, but it’s nice so you can consider upgrading your room to a larger typology.
Palazzo Abadessa
€€ | 4 Star | Courtyard | Family Friendly
This quaint hotel in Cannaregio has everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay in Venice. The area is a bit off the beaten path but you’ll enjoy some of Venice’s more local restaurants.
The hotel looks slightly dated, but the price is low enough that you can upgrade your room and surely have a nicer stay with your kids in Venice.

Hotel Ca’ Pisani
€€ | 4 Star | Dorsoduro | Art Deco Design
I really like the location of Hotel Ca’ Pisani. It’s in Dorsoduro right over the Ponte della Accademia. You’ll have great access to St. Mark’s for nighttime cocktails but you’ll be in a really local area with good restaurants.
I also really appreciate the quick access to Giudecca and San Giorgio island with the Vaporetto. Ca’ Pisani is reasonably priced for what you get, which makes it an easy decision. No worries on this one—go for an upgrade, so you’ll be able to spread out with the kids.
Palazzina Grassi
€€€ | 5 Star | San Marco | Gaudy Luxury
Palazzina Grassi is an amazingly gaudy (in a good way) and luxurious hotel in the San Marco district, which makes it pretty central. Prices are extremely reasonable given the size of the rooms, decor, and general beauty of the hotel.
It’s in more of a locals’ area of San Marco as it’s not terribly close to St. Mark’s Square or Rialto Bridge, so the tourist paths don’t cross this area. If you want luxury and style, it’s an excellent choice in the mid-300s. You’ll also be in a very central part of Venice with a great local feel. If you can pick up a room with more space, it would be perfect for a trip with kids.
