St. Mark’s Basilica & Doge’s Palace Half-Day Tour with Gondola Ride

Great tour!

Nataliya was a fantastic tour guide. She is very knowledgeable about the history of Venice. We really enjoyed the tour!

We loved this tour & our guide. She was full of information & humorous. The gondola ride was amazing & was a bucket list item for us.

Second half was better than the first

As a first time visitor to Venice, I was excited to try to see as many things as I could during my short trip. I signed up for your tour to get a taste of both worlds with trips to the two near islands as well as the key sites in the Venice area. I was a bit disappointed in the Marano and Verano boat tours as they literally seem to be tours to go shopping. We saw a very short glass demonstration and then were lead straight into the gift shop with limited time to actually see or learn much about the rest of the island. The same thing happened in Burano, where we were unable to see a demonstration, which was the most important part of that visit. Again, we were able to visit some of the local shops, but because of the early tour in November many were just opening. The tour guy was lackluster once on ground but grave great information during the boat ride to both islands. Now the second half of the tour was fantastic. I believe our tour guides name was Natalia. She was absolutely fantastic and reminded me a bit of a history teacher, although she provided the information in a much more interesting fashion. I was really swept into her descriptions of much of the art that we were saying within the Doge and Saint Mark‘s Basilica. She swept me away from current day Venice into a time when all of this was originally built. She actually had props in a book that showed us with early Venice looked like. I really wish given the time of year that the tour would’ve been flipped with a visit to the doge in Saint Marks in the a.m. and the islands in the afternoon.

Felippo our tour guide was very good and knowledgeable he kept us engaged the whole time…the whole team that met us from finish to end was very professional and organized very impressive tour company.

A Must

Cloudy slightly rainy day. This is a great tour which I highly recommend We used the The Tour Guy before in Rome and as always they deliver. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and informative. Small group 13 people which made it much better than those large group. The tour ended with a 30 minute gondola ride which was a max of 5 people per gondola and we were lucky enough to be just the two of us. Although the gondola ride was during rain it was an experience that will stay with me.

Fantastic tour with a great guide despite the weather and gondola cancellation

We had a wonderful tour with an excellent tour guide (Tulia) for St Mark’s Basillica and the Doge Palace. Tulia had an immense amount of knowledge and information to share with the group and it was very entertaining. I would certainly suggest going on this tour for these points of attraction alone. Unfortunately due to the weather and local flooding the gondola ride needed to be cancelled. While this was out of anyone’s control we were told by the local organizer that we would be refunded a certain portion of the tour fee because of this - a lesser amount was offered by those working higher up in the company operations (20 EUR vs 18 EUR).

We did tour of St Marks Basilica and the Doge Palace, crossed the Bridge of Sighs into the prison and finished off with a thirty minute gondola ride. Natalia was our guide. She was funny and very knowledgeable. She tried to get everyone’s name down and made us feel welcome in Italy. By the end of the tour she had used each of our names or nicknames, showed us her love of Italian art and history. Thanks Natalia!! Great time touring with you!

This tour was very interesting and informative. Although the basilica and Palace are magnificent, it wouldn't have been nearly as meaningful without a guide Our guide, Martina did an awesome job, it was a fairly long tour, she kept it entertaining and informative.
