What a wonderful 3 hours of history. The Doge’s Palace is filled with amazing sites and history. The walk through from Doge’s Palace through the Bridge of Sighs and into the Prison was incredible. The ceilings are beautiful. St. Marks Basilica continues the amazing ceilings. The gold mosaic tiles are just incredible. Plan the tour for a finish into St. Marks about 11:30 and the ceilings really light up when they turn the lights on. This only happens firn1 hour a day before noon. Well worth the time to see these two amazing pieces of Venetian history.

Our tour guide did a great job describing and explaining the history behind the famous landmarks. She had to deal with the crowding from other tours and the heavy rainfall. She kept track of everybody and maintained good humor in adversity.
