Ultimate Palace of Versailles Tour from Paris

Perfect timing!

This 3.5 hour tour was the perfect amount of time. The tour bus picked us up at 11am, we got to the front palace gates at 11:20am! Our guide took us to the "tours only" line and we skipped the insane lineup at the front gates. Our guide had great stories! Tour ended around 1:45 in the gardens and we met back at the tour bus at 2:30 and got back to Paris at 2:55. The perfect amount of time for our group of 6. All the staff were so organized and coordinated, and their "tour guy" signs were all very clear and easy to follow. Thank you so much tour guy!

Loved my tour the guide was knowledgeable and friendly, I just wish I would have known to bring water in advance!!!

Knowledgeable and friendly guide; not enough time to explore gardens

Emily deftly guided our group of 13 through the sprawling chambers of Versailles. She shared memorable and relevant insights as the group stopped by highlights. The place was crowded, but everyone in the group could hear her well with the headphones connected to her mic. My two suggestions. The tour meeting place changed was very far out on the Paris outskirts. It would have been much nicer if the meeting point were closer to the center of Paris where almost all of the tour members came from. Finally, there was not nearly enough time to explore the gardens adequately and still make the 12:30pm bus pickup time. We only had 40 minutes left by the time the palace tour concluded, but it would have taken 20 minutes to walk back to the bus from there, so effectively only 20 minutes to explore by foot.

A good overall introductory tour to the Palace and Gardens

We had a different meeting point due to the Olympics, but we were able to find it without problems. Because we arrived early, we were permitted to join an earlier group than originally scheduled for us. The bus ride to Versailles was uneventful and the drop off/pick up instructions were clear. Upon arrival, the bus was split into smaller groups of a dozen each. Our guide provided us with tour headsets and receivers. After ticketing and a restroom stop, we proceeded to walk through the palace for about an hour. The crowds packing into each gallery were so large that it was difficult to see and hear our guide, despite her attempts to isolate our group. The crowds also made it challenging to see the displays, read placards, or take photos. I'm not sure if visiting at a different time would have made a difference. The tour concluded with a brief introduction to the Gardens. We had 40 minutes to explore on our own before re-boarding the bus for our return trip.

Just enough

Our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly and the time of the tour was just right. But just be aware that there can be a lot of people so probably I would suggest doing the earliest tour.

Wow!

The Tour Guy is an impressive company. We have done many tours with them and are always happy! The Versailles tour was wonderful. Our guide, Anastacia, was very knowledgeable, kind and efficient. We learned a lot and wished we had more time to explore the gardens. This is a great tour!

An incredible place and tour

Catherine was my tour guide. She was very nice and did an amazing job. The palace and gardens were breath taking. Catherine was very knowledgeable and I leave here with lots of knowledge I didn't have before. This was my first time doing a tour with The Tour Guy. I look forward to tomorrow's Paris in a day tour with you guys, and my Rome in a day tour in a couple weeks.
