I purposely scheduled a private tour with Fetah Merebhah for our Private Louvre Tour for our family! From the moment we met Fetah he was instantly connected and engaged with our 11 yo son. Fetah guided us with his knowledge, the history (past and current) and connected us to this amazing Palace!! Our son was engaged throughout and loved this part of our trip. Hafid was our tour guide for a private tour of the Louvre in Paris recently. He was so knowledgeable and passionate about the museum and the art. I had originally booked the semi-private tour but decided to change since I was afraid my husband might hold up others in a group. The change was handled quickly and efficiently. I had "sticker shock" from the price difference, but it was worth every penny and more!

I booked through one of the better-known operators offering early-access tours. The confirmation came with clear meeting instructions. We bypassed the famous pyramid entrance entirely. Through a side door near the Richelieu wing, security took less than four minutes. By 10:42 we were standing in the Denon wing. What the Guide Actually Adds The temptation is to think a private tour is about access. It's not, or at least not only. Our Guides real value showed up in the Grande Galerie, where he stopped us in front of paintings I would have walked past in seconds. He drew our attention to a Caravaggio's hand placement, explained why a particular Veronese was politically scandalous in its day, and made connections between works hanging fifty meters apart. He also knew when to stop talking. Twice he simply gestured at a piece and let us look. That restraint is rare and valuable. The route he built was thoughtful: Italian Renaissance, Northern European, French Romanticism (we spent a long time with Géricault's Raft of the Medusa and Delacroix's Liberty Leading the People), then a quick descent to the Venus de Milo and Winged Victory of Samothrace. For a first visit, for a special occasion, or for anyone who finds large museum crowds genuinely exhausting, a VIP private tour of the Louvre is one of the rare luxury experiences that delivers exactly what it promises.

We had an exceptional tour led by John today. We were a small group of five. He captivated us with his knowledge and enthusiasm. The louvre can feel like Charles de Gaulle airport because it's soooo crowded, vast, and complicated to navigate. This tour was worth every penny !! He was generous with his time and loves what he does. I am a thrifty person, I always take the metro, not cabs - IMO having a private tour makes the art and buildings come alive and I wouldn't want to visit the Louvre any other way. Thx to John we learned more and had a more rewarding experience than we would have with an audio recording Thumbs up !!!
