Top 15 Beaches Along the Amalfi Coast in 2025

Brandon Shaw Last Updated: May 12, 2025

Going to the Amalfi Coast and looking for some beach time? Many of the amazing beaches where locals go are hidden or not easily spotted from the road. So, it can be hard to find them. We’ve put together this list with our local tour guides to help you find and enjoy the best beaches on the Amalfi Coast!

The 15 Best Beaches on the Amalfi Coast and Nearby Islands

The Amalfi Coast is located in a small corner of Southern Italy between the Gulf of Naples and the Gulf of Salerno in the Province of Salerno. The region is a 1.5-hour drive to the south from Naples, the closest big city. The actual coast is about 30 miles (50 km) long and follows a winding two-lane road with the sea on one side and mountains on the other.

At first glance from the road, you don’t see many actual beaches where you can lay a towel down and get some sun. That’s because many of them are hidden, but we’re here to show where to find them.

If you’re looking for a cool way to explore the Amalfi Coast and visit some of the beautiful beaches on this list, we’ve got you covered. Whether you’re into scenic views, crystal-clear waters, or just relaxing by the sea, there’s something here for everyone. Ready? Let’s go to the beach!

15. Marina di Cetara (Cetara)

the tour guy amalfi coast

Sandy Beach | Quaint | Locals’ Spot

While Cetara is best known for its dominant trade in anchovies, they also have a nice, sandy beach. The town’s promenade is lined with Palm trees and the picturesque port will take you back in time.

If you’re looking for a local beach, then you have come to the right place. Tourists usually pass right over this beach, so you’ll find yourself surrounded by locals on all sides. Pick up some essential Italian words and enjoy a real local experience.

Address: Via Marina, 13, Cetara

14. Santa Croce (Amalfi)

Photo courtesy of Ristorante Da Teresa

Secluded | Only Accessible by Boat | Two Restaurants and Bars

This is one of the more secluded beaches along the coast. Tucked away along an inlet, the only way to get there is by boat. Even though it’s not the most easily accessible beach, you’ll find two beach clubs there where you can get food and drinks. Santa Croce and Da Teresa both of them offer ferry services from the main pier.

Amalfi is small so it can get quite crowded. You owe it to yourself to get away from the crowds for a day. Grab a sunbed and umbrella and enjoy a spritz at Da Teresa while looking out at the beautiful dark blue waters.

Address: Santa Croce, Amalfi

13. Spiaggia Arienzo (Positano)

Picturesque Beach | Great Location | Good Food

While you can definitely enjoy the rays at the big brother beach of Marina Grande in Positano, It’s worth it to make the trek out here on day two to enjoy a different vibe. As with everything in Positano, you’ll have to take the stairs to reach the beach—300 of them! However, there’s also a ferry service with small wooden boats if you’d prefer.

There’s a beach club called Bagni d’Arienzo Beach Club where you can get a sunbed and umbrella. You can also enjoy some typical Amalfi Coast food as well—anything on the menu with seafood will be good.

Address: Via Arienzo, 34, Positano

12. Gavitella Beach (Praiano)

the tour guy amalfi coast

Hidden Gem | Full Sun Until Evening | Great Beach To Watch the Sunset

This is definitely a hidden gem to visit while staying in Praiano. Due to its natural surroundings, you’ll have full sun well into the early hours of the evening on this beach and you can even see the sunset from here.

There’s a beach club, Cala della Gavitella Beach Club, where you can get sunbeds and an umbrella. There’s a concrete platform where you’ll see locals just laying down a towel, so that’s possible as well.

Address: Via Gavitella, 1, Praiano

11. Vietri sul Mare

Sandy Beach | Easy To Access | Restaurants and Bars

Similar to Maiori, Vietri has a long stretch of beach. These beaches get crowded, but that’s because they are easy to access. There’s no need to worry about climbing up or down hundreds of stairs or taking a private boat to get there.

There are restaurants along the beach for a delicious seafood pasta lunch. You’ll also find snack bars in case you don’t want a sit-down meal. Get to the beach early to get a good spot and a sunbed and umbrella if you want them.

Address: Vietri sul Mare

10. Marina di Mulo (Capri)

the tour guy amalfi coast

Less Crowded Beach | Beautiful Setting | Restaurants and Bars

You’ll find this beach on the southern side of the island. Generally, the beaches on this side of Capri are much less crowded nowadays. Back in the day, however, this was where the stars used to come and it was quite the glitzy area.

While you won’t find many stars here anymore, the beach is still spectacular. If you decide on this beach, come early to get a good spot and because the sun disappears around 4 pm here.

Address: Via Marina Piccola, Capri

9. Spiaggia di Maiori (Maiori)

the tour guy amalfi coast

Long Sandy Beach | Easily Accessible | Family Friendly

Everyone wants to go to a private or secluded beach, but they aren’t always easy to access. If you have kids, this can be a problem. At Maiori Beach, none of that is an issue. I’ve stayed at a hotel here and taken my kids to this beach. It’s super kid friendly.

There will definitely be crowds, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. You’ll have beachfront restaurants with plenty of meal options and you can also rent sunbeds and umbrellas along the beach. I’m a huge advocate of the hard-to-access beaches but sometimes, especially with kids, all you want is a nice beach with easy access. This is it.

Address: Strada Statale Amalfitana, Maiori

8. Spiaggia Marina Grande (Capri)

the tour guy amalfi coast

Bustling Atmosphere | Family Friendly | Food and Drinks

This is Capri’s biggest beach. It’s very close to the port, so it attracts the most visitors and can be quite busy. If you’re visiting Capri for the first time, chances are you’ll come to this beach.

If you’re traveling with your family, this beach has shallow water areas, so it’s safe for kids. There are also refreshment stands nearby where you can get snacks and drinks. Take some awesome photos and soak up the beauty that is Capri!

Address: Via Marina Grande, Capri

7. Il Duoglio Spiaggia (Amalfi)

the tour guy amalfi coast

Crystal Clear Water | Beach Club | Water Sports Equipment

Just a bit away from Amalfi town, you’ll find this awesome beach. You’ll have to go down the 400 stairs to access it, but the locals say that the water here is some of the cleanest along the coast. That said, I’ve found that the water is clean everywhere along the coastline.

The beach club, Lido degli Artisti, offers the usual sunbeds and umbrellas. The best part, though, is there’s also a variety of water sports equipment. Fancy jumping on a paddle boat and heading out onto the crystal-clear blue waters of the Mediterranean? Go for it! For the more adventurous types, there is even windsurfing here!

Address: Via Mauro Comite, 25, Amalfi

6. Marina di Praia (Praiano)

the tour guy amalfi coast beaches

Hidden Gem | Epic Views | Great Restaurants

This is personally my favorite beach on the coast. It might be for more sentimental reasons than anything else—since this was the first beach I ever went to on the coast. To get down to it you either have to go by car along the road or take the stairs directly from the street.

One of the best things is that this beach is completely hidden from view if you’re on the street, so you need to have the inside info! Once you’re on the beach, the view is epic! The two massive cliffs on either side of you are stunning. Another bonus is that right behind the beach, there are some great restaurants for fresh seafood. Fried calamari anyone?

5. Spiaggia Bagni di Tiberio (Capri)

the tour guy amalfi coast

Capri’s Best Beach | Family Friendly | Beach Club | Great Restaurant

I think most people would agree that this is Capri’s best beach. It is named after the Roman Emperor Tiberius who practically gave up his power in Rome to become a recluse here in Capri. It’s hard to blame him since Capri is one of the most beautiful places on earth.

This beach is good for children and there’s a beach club to set up sunbeds and umbrellas. There’s also a restaurant where you can get great pasta and seafood dishes.

There’s so much to explore on this island. For unforgettable guided adventures and relaxing boat trips, check out our Capri day trips. We guarantee the Blue Grotto and beautiful rock formations will blow your mind!

Address: Via Torra, Marina Grande, Capri

4. Spiaggia di Positano Marina Grande (Positano)

Marina Grande Positano Amalfi Coast Top Attractions

Popular Beach | Lots of Amenities | Easy To Access | Shops and Restaurants Nearby

Positano’s main beach is a hotspot for travelers looking for a beach with all the amenities. Getting here is super easy—all you have to do is keep walking down from the top of the city and you’ll eventually run right into it.

You can rent sunbeds for the day, take a swim, check out the shops in town, and have a long (hopefully boozy) lunch on the beach! I can’t think of a better way to enjoy your vacation.

Address: Via del Brigantino, Positano

3. Spiaggia Di Cauco (Erchie)

Spiaggia di Cauco, Erichie Amalfi Coast Top Attractions

Secluded | Beautiful Setting | Great Beach to Watch the Sunset

Spiaggia di Cauco is one of my favorite beaches on the Amalfi Coast for its beauty and seclusion. It’s located on the last stretch of the southern part of the Amalfi Coast, close to Salerno, in the town of Erchie.

The beach will fill up with umbrellas and there are some cool places to eat nearby. Get there early and grab a letto (bed/chair) before the beach fills up. It’s a great beach to catch a sunset, so pack some extra supplies and spend all day on the beach!

Address: Via Provinciale, 2

2. Fiordo Di Furore (Furore)

Fiordo di Furore Beach Incredible Amalfi Coast

Beautiful and Unique Setting | Popular Beach | Perfect Stop En Route To Ravello

You may already have seen this beach on Instagram. It’s one of the most unique beaches on the Amalfi Coast. That said, Italy is peppered with beaches surrounded by cool rock formations. It’s one of the reasons the “boot” is such a sought-after and multi-faceted destination.

Fiordo di Furore is between Praiano (the town south of Positano) and Ravello. It is the perfect destination for a few hours before heading to lunch in Ravello followed by a visit to some of Ravello’s famous villas.

Address: Via Marina di Praia, 2

1. Bagni Regina Giovanna (Sorrento)

Bath of Regina Giovanna Sorrento Top Attractions Amalfi Coast

Gorgeous Cove | Perfect for Swimming | Roman Ruins Nearby | Cliff Jumping

Bagni Regina Giovanna is a magical little cove a quick 10-minute drive from Sorrento. It’s a perfect spot for swimming as the seawater flows into a cove-like area.

It’s also just far away enough from Sorrento that it isn’t completely overrun with tourists. If you have a vehicle, you can drive out and look for parking. If not, take bus 5070 and get off at Caposorrento. From there, it’s another 10 minutes on foot.

It’s a bit of a hike, so take comfortable shoes, but it’s totally worth it! Don’t forget to check out the Roman ruins and enjoy the crystal-clear water. This is what the Amalfi Coast is all about!

Address: Traversa Punta Capo, Sorrento
