You will meet your guide in central Positano (Parking Mandara) where a comfortable Minivan will come to drive you to the Port of Sorrento to meet your boat.

Important Details

Good to know:

  • Dress Code: Swimwear, comfortable light clothing, and shoes that are easy to take on and off are recommended.

  • Accessibility: Unfortunately, this tour is not wheelchair accessible due to the use of a boat, minivan, and uneven terrain in Positano/Capri. Guests must be able to get on and off a boat, but do have free time on Capri to set their own manageable itinerary.

  • Alcohol Consumption: This tour includes beer and wine; participants consuming alcohol should be of legal drinking age in Italy (18). Please bring a government-issued ID if you plan to partake.

  • Dietary Restrictions: Please contact us in advance with any special dietary restrictions or allergies, as the tour includes a light Caprese sandwich lunch.

  • Please Note: Please bring €10 cash per person for mandatory docking fees in Capri. The Blue Grotto is not included due to long waiting times, but guests can visit during free time by paying an additional €18 cash entry fee on-site.

  • Free Time: You will have a minimum of 3–5 hours of free time on Capri to explore at your leisure.

  • Check-in: Arrive 15 minutes early for check-in at the meeting point so the group can depart on time.

Where to meet?

You will meet your guide in central Positano (Parking Mandara) where a comfortable Minivan will come to drive you to the Port of Sorrento to meet your boat.

What to bring?

We recommend bringing a swimsuit, beach towel, sunscreen and a camera. If you have a snorkel then you can bring this too! We also recommend bringing some cash with you for the €5 docking fee and any local activities during your free time.

Where does the boat leave from?

The boat leaves from the Port of Sorrento. Transportation to and from Positano is included.

Can I visit the Blue Grotto?

This tour doesn't stop at the famous Blue Grotto due to long waiting times, but you can try to visit during your free time in Capri if you'd like to. Tickets are required to hop on one of the approved rowboats that enter the Blue Grotto, so just make sure to bring the €18 entry fee in cash for each person in your group and enjoy a dazzling ride through this incredible cave.

Is snorkeling equipment included?

Snorkeling equipment is not included, so please bring your own. You can also purchase locally before boarding (€15 mask, €9 snorkel).

How much free time will I have on Capri?

You'll have a minimum of 3-5 hours in the island, and you trip leader can give you plenty of recommendations on what to do.

What if I have concerns about my mobility?

You'll need to be able to get on and off a boat, of course, but all swimming and snorkeling activities are entirely optional. Your time on Capri island is free, so you can decide for yourself what itinerary is manageable.

Is this tour run by The Tour Guy?

No, but it's run by one of our trusted and vetted partners in Sorrento.

Is lunch included with this tour?

A full lunch isn't included with this tour, but you'll enjoy a delicious Caprese sandwich, made with fresh mozzarella, ripe tomatoes, and a drizzle of rich extra virgin olive oil, along with plenty of snacks and drinks while you're on the boat.

Are there any local fees to pay?

Yes. Please bring €10 cash per person for onsite docking fees.

Do I have some free time to swim and snorkel?

Yes you will have some free time to swim and snorkel during the boat tour. The skipper will decide the best and most comfortable stops for you thanks to his experience.

Will the tour be cancelled in case of heavy rain or rough sea?

Yes, in case of bad weather/sea conditions the tour might be cancelled. In case of cancellation we are happy to offer our customers the choice of an alternative date or, in case of inability to rebook, the full refund.

Are drinks included?

Yes, we offer soft drinks, beer, and water during the tour. A glass of homemade limoncello will be served at the end.

What if I don’t drink alcohol but I’d still like to join a food tour?

Not a problem! Soft drinks are available for non-alcoholic options. Please let us know in the comment box when you book your tour so we can make sure there will be unlimited options.
