The 8 Best BEACHES in CAPRI

Brandon Shaw Last Updated: December 3, 2024

Coming to the Capri and looking for the perfect beach? Capri has many amazing beaches. There are tourist hotspots with all the amenities, hidden gems only the locals know about, and family-friendly spots with shallow water. Not sure which beach is right for you? Our local tour guides have put together this list of the best beaches in Capri to help you have a wonderful time.

Pro Tip: Planning to visit Capri off the Amalfi Coast? Bookmark this post in your browser so you can easily find it when you’re on the island and hunger strikes. See our guide to Capri for more planning resources, our best Capri tours for an exciting trip, and the top things to do on the Amalfi Coast.

The 8 Top Beaches in Capri

Capri is one of those special places that’s unlike anywhere else I’ve been. To say it’s beautiful would be an understatement. I’ve been lucky enough to visit Capri many times. Here’s what you need to know about going to the beach in Capri.

Don’t expect wide, sandy beaches. Capri is a volcanic island, so most of the beaches are rocky. So, bring some water shoes with you if you have them. Luckily, most beaches have an organized structure where you’ll pay between $15-$30 per person and get a sun bed and an umbrella.

There’s also a lot to explore along Capri’s coast. Have you heard of the magnificent Blue Grotto? If cruising Capri like a VIP, snorkeling, and exploring colorful caves sounds good to you, check out our collection of Capri tours and experiences.

8. Marina di Mulo

Less Crowded Beach | Beautiful Setting | Restaurants and Bars

You’ll find this beach on the southern side of the island. Generally, beaches in the south are much less crowded today. Back in the day, however, this was where the stars used to vacation and it was quite the glitzy area.

While you won’t find many stars here anymore, the beach is still spectacular. If you decide on this beach, come early to make sure you grab a seat and also because the sun disappears around 4 PM.

Address: Piscina di Venere, Capri

7. Spiaggia Marina Grande

Bustling Atmosphere | Family Friendly | Food and Drinks

This is Capri’s biggest beach. It’s very close to the port, so it attracts the most visitors and can be quite busy. If you’re visiting Capri for the first time, chances are you’ll come to this beach.

If you’re traveling with your family, this beach has shallow water areas, so it’s safe for kids. There are also refreshment stands nearby where you can get snacks and drinks. Take some awesome photos and soak up the beauty that is Capri!

6. Lido del Faro di Punta Carena

Watch the Sunset | Evening Drinks | Bars

Located in Anacapri on higher ground, this beach is close the Faro Di Punta Carena, which translates to the “lighthouse of the point in the shape of a boat’s hull”. While the beach itself is probably not the best place to hang out for the day, there are a few bars here worth visiting in the evening.

The reason is that this is the only place where you can actually see the sunset from the water! The two main bars are Da Antonio and Maliblu bar. Drink a nice spritz while enjoying the sunset. You won’t regret it!

Address: Str. Faro di Carena, Anacapri

5. Gradola

The Tour Guy Best Beach Capri

Quiet Beach | Locals’ Spot | Blue Grotto Closeby | Restaurants and Bars

This beach is also located in Anacapri and it’s not far away from the super famous Blue Grotto. If you’re looking for a more private or intimate beach day, this is the place. You’ll find very few tourists here—it’s usually frequented by the locals.

The beach itself is free, but there are two places close by, Da Giovanni and Riccio, if you’re looking for sunbeds and more comfortable surroundings. Both places also happen to be lounge bars and restaurants. They’re quite trendy in the evening.

Address: Via Gradola, 8, Località Gradola,

4. Piscina di Venere

Hidden Gem | Secluded Spot | For Adventure Lovers

If secluded is what you’re after, head to Piscina di Venere (The Pool of Venus). It’s a tricky place to get to, so it’s best to hire a boat to get there. Once you arrive, arrange a time to return with the captain and he’ll pick you up.

There isn’t any organized structure here, so make sure you bring a backpack with lunch and water because you’ll be on your own. You wanted seclusion! It’s definitely worth the effort to get here.

Address: Sorry, not even Google knows about this one!

3. Torre Saracena

Easily Accessible | Family Friendly | Sunbeds | Restaurants

This beach is also part of the Marina Piccola. You can easily reach it by walking down Via Mulo. You can also catch a bus back up the hill, which makes it a lot easier. The beach here is small and the water takes up almost the entire area. However, if you’re with kids, it’s a great spot because the water is shallow for a bit.

There’s a small structure here with the same name where you can get something to eat and a sunbed. The only thing to be aware of is that the sun will disappear quite early in the afternoon due to its position.

Address: Via Krupp, Capri

2. Da Luigi ai Faraglioni

the tour guy beach capri

Beautiful Setting | Faraglioni Views | Cliff Jumping | Beach Club | Restaurant

This is definitely one of the most beautiful beaches in Capri! You’ll enjoy a great view of the famous Faraglioni, which are the massive rock formations right next to the island. I don’t recommend this particular beach if you have kids since the only way into the water is by jumping off the rocks or climbing down a ladder.

To access it you either have to walk 200 stairs through a little forest or go by boat from Marina Piccola. I suggest taking the walk down and catching the boat back. Call in advance as it gets packed with locals and tourists alike on the weekends. For about €35 per person, you get admission and a sunbed. They also have an amazing seafood restaurant. Enjoy!

Address: Via dei Faraglioni, 5, Capri

1. Bagni di Tiberio

the tour guy amalfi coast

Capri’s Best Beach | Family Friendly | Beach Club | Great Restaurant

I think most people would agree that this is Capri’s best beach. It is named after the Roman Emperor Tiberius who practically gave up his power in Rome to become a recluse here in Capri. It’s hard to blame him since Capri is one of the most beautiful places on earth.

This beach is good for children and there’s a beach club to set up sunbeds and umbrellas. There’s also a restaurant where you can get great pasta and seafood dishes.

There’s so much to explore on this island. For unforgettable guided adventures and relaxing boat trips, check out our Capri day trips. We guarantee the Blue Grotto and beautiful rock formations will blow your mind!
