Trattoria da Gemma (Amalfi)
€€ | Historic Restaurant | Fantastic Location | Elegant | Canteen
Located on a terrace overlooking the Duomo and main square, this historical venue has been serving guests since 1872. Being one of Amalfi’s oldest restaurants, Da Gemma offers high-quality service in a classy atmosphere.
Here, you’ll taste traditional cuisine interpreted by an experienced chef. Try the typical fish soup if you’re curious about the Amalfi coast’s gastronomic culture. If you’re in the mood for excellent pasta, go the Genovese.
My personal favorite is the grilled octopus served on Controne bean cream (it’s a local variety of beans). Da Gemma is the perfect blend of elegance and tradition, so don’t hesitate to book your table at this historic restaurant.
Address: Via Fra Gerardo Sasso 11, Amalfi
Salvatore Ravello 1958 (Ravello)
€€€ | Amazing Views | Great Location | Modern Twist | For Meat Lovers
This is one of those places you go to for a meal but come away with an experience you won’t forget. The chef really knows what he’s doing and the staff is on point. Did I mention that the views are amazing as well?
The menu is about modern twists on classical dishes, so you won’t find the typical dishes that you find at many restaurants in the area. Start the bread that has a message written in squid ink and anchovy butter.
Next, if you want to change it up, go for the Steak Frites or the crespelle (a house favorite). Finish off with tiramisu and you’ll quickly see why this is one of the best meat restaurants on the Amalfi Coast. For more options, check out the best restaurants in Ravello.

Salumeria Da Aldo (Capri)
€ | Gourmet Sandwiches | Takeaway Snacks and Drinks
Sometimes, when you’re in a place like Capri, you don’t want a long, sit-down lunch. You’d rather have a quick meal, so you can head back to the beach and go swimming in the sea. If that’s your vibe, Salumeria Da Aldo is a great sandwich option where you can get delicious snacks to go.
Salumeria da Aldo is one of the old-school sandwich shops you can still find in Italy. They make their sandwiches fresh and to order. You can have delicious prosciutto with mozzarella di Bufala or even just a simple Caprese sandwich with tomatoes and mozzarella. No matter what you have, it’ll be delicious and great value. Pizzeria Da Franco (Sorrento)
€€ | Pizza Napolitana | Quality Ingredients | Fun Atmosphere
Pizza as we know it was invented in Naples. So, while you can eat pizza anywhere in the world, this is a great part of the world to try Neopolitan-style pizza. Do not leave the Amalfi Coast without having one.
At Pizzeria da Franco, you can expect the best pizza in town, a wide selection of toppings, and beer to wash it all down. The vibe is low-key but there’s often a line out front, so that’s a pretty good indication that you’re in for something good. Read the best restaurants in Sorrento for more options.
Address: Corso Italia, 265, Sorrento
Cuoppo di Amalfi (Amalfi)
€ | Streetfood | Fried Seafood
Want something delicious to eat on the go in Amalfi? Head to Cuoppo di Amalfi for seafood streetfood. They offer various lightly-battered, fried seafood options that you eat with a large wooden toothpick.
The usual offering is fried calamari, shrimp, and even sardines. The best drink to wash it all down is with a cold, local beer. And this is why Cuoppo is one of the best street food restaurants on the Amalfi Coast.
Address: Supportico Gaetano Afeltra10, Amalfi
Da Armandino (Praiano)
€€ | Seafood | Beachfront | Terrace | Locals’ Favorite
This is a local favorite, so if you’re lost you can ask any local and they’ll be able to direct you to Da Armandino. The restaurant is located at the Marina di Praia beach. The setting is incredible! You’ll be on the beach surrounded on all sides by cliffs. Go for a dip, then head on over for some seafood.
They have both outdoor and indoor seating, but in this setting, definitely sit outside if you can. Start with some fried calamari with a splash of fresh lemon. Then, enjoy a seafood pasta and wash it all down with a cold white wine. The location and quality of food definitely make this one of the best fish restaurants on the Amalfi Coast.
Address: Via Marina di Praia, Praiano
Babel Wine Bar Deli & Art (Ravello)
€€ | Cozy Atmosphere | Great Service
Sometimes, when you go to a restaurant you get the feeling the owners were artists in a previous life, or maybe even in this life as well. That’s the vibe you get when you dine at Babel Wine Bar Deli & Art.
If you want a break from the heavy pasta and pizzas, then pop in for lunch here. Enjoy some prosciutto and Mozzarella or some meatballs in a red sauce. For something a bit lighter, how about a red quinoa salad? Don’t forget the wine and limoncello at the end!

Lo Sfizio (Capri)
€€ | Off the beaten track | Seafood
This hidden gem is a bit of a walk from the main touristy area, but the walk is well worth it. If you happen to be visiting the ruins of Tiberius villa, then this is a perfect spot for lunch. The friendly staff will make you feel right at home.
As for the food, there’s something for everyone. You can start off with some ravioli Caprese with Parmigiano cheese. After that, go for a whole roasted chicken or a whole fresh fish. For the people in your group who are fussy, there’s always the option for a delicious pizza.
Address: Via Tiberio, 7E, Capri
La Tagliata (Positano)
€€ | Breathtaking Views | Terrace Dining | For Meat Lovers
There are some views that take your breath away no matter how long you stare at them. La Tagliata has one of those views. The great thing about this restaurant is that the food is also really good! It’s not located in the city center and is quite a bit outside it, but the great thing is they’ll pick you up and drop you off at your hotel after dinner!
While the majority of restaurants by the sea will offer seafood, up here meat reigns supreme. Order a nice steak cooked over the coals with a robust red wine to wash it down. I recommend making an early reservation, so you can enjoy those views while the sun is out!
Address: Via Tagliata, 32B, Positano
Monastero Santa Rosa (Conca Dei Marini)
€€ | Breathtaking Views | Luxury Hotel Dining | Historic Building
I wouldn’t be exaggerating if I said this structure dates back to 1600. Monastero Santa Rosa is a high-end hotel located in a historical convent, which also offers a spa and a dining service open to the public. This structure is one of the most refined locations on the Amalfi Coast, where you’ll get to taste exquisite cuisine made of from local produce.
All the fish dishes are worth trying here. They’re creatively prepared and come with a serving of veggies from the garden. If you’re a fan of raw fish, try the sea bass tartare tossed with pineapple and lemon with a yogurt sauce.
In need of a good old classic? Go for the amberjack served on a traditional Neapolitan stew of summer vegetables and crispy zucchini. For those who need a fancier option, I’d suggest the seven-year-aged Carnaroli rice whisked with basil cream and Amalfi lemon topped with raw Mediterranean shrimp—hard to resist!
Address: Via Roma 2, Conca dei Marini
Agriturismo Serafina (Furore Near Positano)
€€ | Hillside Rural Restaurant | Homemade Pasta | Traditional Dishes
Serafina is one of the top rural farm restaurants in the Campania region. It’s located in Furore, a little hamlet next to Positano. You may have seen the famous fjord that goes by the same name on a boat tour—if you haven’t, you should! It’s magical!
If you like trekking and discovering local spots, this restaurant is great. You’ll find a warm family-like atmosphere. The structure has 10 rooms for accommodation and the restaurant can host up to 20 people. So, definitely book your table before you head up the hill.
The dishes are made with ingredients from the garden and according to old recepies. You’ll even have the chance to try homemade pasta, a tradition that is harder and harder to maintain in regular restaurants.
Address: Via Picola 3, Furore
Ristorante Franchino (Praiano)
€€€ | Seafood | Fine Dining | Spectacular Views
This establishment has been in the same family for over 50 years, so they must be doing something right! Remember to book in advance to ensure you get a table overlooking the coast. Since you’re a bit higher up here, the views are to-die-for.
As for the food, try the superb shrimp ravioli. For those of you who don’t like seafood, they also have various turf options like a good old steak with potatoes. For risotto lovers, I recommend the seafood risotto with shrimp, scampi, mussels, and clams. Wash it all down with a chilled, local white wine and you’ll understand why this is one of the best fish restaurants on the Amalfi Coast.

Rada (Positano)
€€€ | Fine Dining | Great Views
This establishment seems like it’s growing out of the rocks on a cliff. From this position, it’s impossible not to enjoy amazing views overlooking the Mediterrean Sea. Grab a seat by the beach and get ready for a wonderful meal.
Like many restaurants you’ll find here, their specialty is seafood. My recommendation is to try the crudo misto or “mixed raw”—you’ll be in for a special treat with raw oysters, clams, shrimp and whatever else is fresh. Then, go with either a seafood pasta or a whole baked fish. Wash it all down with a cold white wine—you’re on the Amalfi Coast!
Address: Via Grotte dell’Incanto, 51, Positano
Il Pirata (Praiano)
€€€ | On the Water | Outdoor Seating | Lounge Bar
I’ve had lunch and dinner here, and both times were exceptional. They have a terrace right on the water, so you can eat floating on the sea! If you’d prefer to come just for drinks or aperitivo, that’s ok as well. They have a lounge bar set in a cave!
To eat, start with a sauté of mussels in white wine sauce. Then, I highly recommend the linguine with crab. If you still have room, go with any of their choice fish options cooked in the oven.
They have a remarkable wine list with many superb local wines. This is the perfect spot to come and enjoy seafood accompanied by the calming sounds of the sea.
Address: Via Marina di Praia, Praiano
Pescheria Le Botteghe (Capri)
€€€ | Simple and Delicious | New Concept
This is one of the more exciting restaurants in Capri, in my opinion. In the morning, the fresh fish arrives, which yhey sell the fish at the counter for you to bring home and cook. After 7pm, however, the establishment transforms into a great place to enjoy drinks or a meal or both!
Make sure you book in advance, as they get extremely busy. You can come in for an aperitivo or ceviche. Sit down and have a delicious plate of pasta with seafood. The quality to price ratio is hard to beat.
Address: Via le Botteghe, 19, Capri
La Taverna Del Leone (Positano)
€€€ | Family Style | Traditional Italian Cuisine | Great Atmosphere
This restaurant is a bit out of the way, but it’s where you’ll find more locals. The food is great and this family-run restaurant has been around since the 1960s. Still going strong, I think they’ll be around for a very long time.
When you come here to eat, you’ll immediately feel like you’re part of the family. The dishes they make are traditional Italian cuisine. All dishes are beautifully presented and delicious, making this is one of the best restaurants on the Amalfi Coast.
Address: Via Laurito, 43, Positano
Rossellinis (Ravello)
€€€€ | Romantic Setting | Michelin Star
Situated inside the 5-star Palazzo Avino Hotel, their Michelin star speaks volumes. Even if you’re not staying in the hotel, you can book a table and enjoy everything that comes with Michelin-star quality, plus the views are stunning. Service is impeccable as is everything else that comes with Michelin.
The menu consists of Haute Cuisine. You can select the Grand Tasting menu or order a la carte. Their wine selection is expansive and if you decide to splurge, at the end of the meal you will understand why this is one of the best fine dining restaurants on the Amalfi Coast.
Address: Via S. Giovanni del Toro, 28, Ravello

Da Ciccio Cielo Mare e Terra (Amalfi)
€€€€ | Seaview | Terrace | Elegant Dining Experience | Wine Pairings
This restaurant is not in the center of town and requires a bit of a drive, but it’s well worth it! They’ll usually offer a shuttle service to pick you up and drop you off if you are staying in the general Amalfi area, so make sure you take advantage of that to enjoy a meal here.
While the restaurant is not cheap, this is the place to splurge if you can. They offer a tasting menu for €90 (excluding wine) with varied dishes such as beef carpaccio, squid and potatoes, and fish soup. Enjoy a local wine from Amalfi and say cheers to the beautiful views.
Address: Via Giovanni Augustariccio, 21, Amalfi
Gennaro Amitrano (Capri)
€€€ | Haute Cuisine | Fine Dining | Beautiful Views
Sometimes you want to get all dressed up and eat something fancy. If that’s the case, this is the place. The dishes served at Gennaro Amitrano are beautifully presented and delicious. You’ll find the service is also impeccable.
This intimate restaurant only has around six tables, so they can focus on the most important element in the restaurant—you! I highly recommend the tasting menu. The menu changes often and their wine selection is vast. Don’t be shy to ask them for help choosing the perfect wint to pair with your meal.
Address: Via Marina Piccola, 120, Capri
Ristorante Museo Caruso (Sorrento)
€€€€ | Elegant Dining Room | Eccentric | Sophisticated Dishes
As the name of the restaurant suggests, the dining experience at Ristorante Museo Caruso is in large part a celebration of Italian opera singer Caruso. It may not be for everyone, but it has a very special feel to it. The walls of the elegant dining room are lined with photos of the singer and your meal will be accompanied by his music. It’s quite the experience!
The food is delicious. Start with some prosecco, move on to a pasta dish, and then eat seafood. If you’re looking for a special experience you can go home and tell your friends about, then make a reservation here.
Address: Via Sant’Antonino, 12, Sorrento
Adamo ed Eva (Positano)
€€€€ | Seafood | Fine Dining | Amazing Views
Adamo e Eva is a restaurant located inside the Eden Roc hotel. It’s a bit higher up along the coast, which means that the views are breathtaking. As you can see from the picture above, there really doesn’t exist a better view of the wide blue sea. Did I mention that the food is amazing as well?
Their specialty is seafood and I highly recommend the pasta with lobster. You can also try red shrimp with burrata, which melts in your mouth. Of course, to wash it down, there’s a chilled bottle of white wine with your name on it!
Address: Via G. Marconi, 112, Positano

Sensi Restaurant (Amalfi)
€€€€ | Seafood | Fine Dining | Sea View
What do you get when you have first class service, a great wine list, and exceptional food? You get a restaurant you don’t want to miss. At Sensi, which means “senses” in English, they strive for perfection and when you see them in action, you know you’re in for something special.
I highly recommend the tasting menu, which is four courses for €80. You can add a four wine pairing menu for an additional €40. You won’t regret it! And when you finish, you will understand why this is one of the best restaurants on the Amalfi Coast.
Address: Via Pietro Comite, 4, Amalfi
Il Flauto Di Pan (Ravello)
€€€€ | Fine Dining | Ultimate Experience
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that this is the best restaurant in Ravello. While I know that the “best” depends on many factors, Il Flauto has it all. From impeccable service to amazing views, an extensive wine list, and delicious food, what more could you ask for? As expected, it will be heavy on the wallet, but sometimes you just need to splurge. And this is a worthy place to do it.
The restaurant is in the Villa Cimbrone hotel, which is part of a park from the Middle Ages. The cuisine, however, is modern and you’ll find pasta, fish, and truffles of all sorts. Enjoy a nice bottle of wine overlooking the sea and take in the moment. Satisfied, you’llappreciate why this is one of the best restaurants on the Amalfi Coast.
Address: Villa Cimbrone, 26, Via Santa Chiara, Ravello
