€€ | Seafood | Amazing Views | Seafront Location | Local Favorite

There are some restaurants that you go to just for the food. And there are others where you pay for the view. At Bagni Delfino, you can enjoy both! Since the 60s, this family-owned restaurant has been set up so that almost every table has a sea view. Off in distance, you can even see Mt. Vesuvius!

At Bagni Delfino, you’ll find both tourists and locals alike. Seafood is their main specialty, so I highly recommend that you order something from the sea and wash it down with some Vino Bianco!

€€ | Cozy Atmosphere | Traditional Food | Hidden Local Gem

You have to be careful because you might walk right past this restaurant and never know it’s there! This gem is in a side alley and is very popular with locals. The staff is super friendly and will give you fantastic recommendations if you ask.

I would start with the oysters to get your appetite going. Then, order pasta with seafood (again ask the waiter what is fresh). I would finish off with some dessert and a cold glass of limoncello. You have now gone to food heaven.

€€€ | Historic Venue | Garden Seating | Classic Style

This is a magical place! Located in the center of the city, you’ll enter an oasis serving delicious food either inside the historic glass-enclosed restaurant or out in the garden under the shade of citrus trees.

This restaurant has been operating for more than 100 years, so they must be doing something right! They specialize in pasta—you really can’t go wrong here food-wise. If you’re looking for a memorable Sorrento dining experience, this may well be it.

Pizzeria da Franco

€€ | Pizza Napolitana | Quality Ingredients | Fun Atmosphere

Pizza as we know it was invented in Naples. So, while you can eat pizza anywhere in the world, this is a great part of the world to try Neopolitan-style pizza. Do not leave the Amalfi Coast without having one.

At Pizzeria da Franco, you can expect the best pizza in town, a wide selection of toppings, and beer to wash it all down. The vibe is low-key but there’s often a line out front, so that’s a pretty good indication that you’re in for something good.

Inn Bufalito

€€ | Off- beaten track | Mozzarella di Bufala

There’s a saying that the farther south you go in Italy, the better the food gets. It’s hard to argue this point. One of the major products from the south is Mozzarella di Bufala and, as the name of the restaurant suggests, this is a great place to eat it locally.

If you love Mozzarella di Bufala, there’s plenty to try here. But you can also get seafood and very good steak. There’s something for everyone. The dishes come beautifully presented and the service is good. All-in-all, you’ll have a quality meal with local ingredients and traditional favorites at Inn Bufalito

Address: Vico Primo Fuoro, 21

Il Leone Rosso

€€ | Fun Atmosphere | Outdoor Seating | Great Location

This restaurant is tucked away a bit from the main hustle and bustle, so you’ll enjoy a bit of laid-back traditions here. It’s also and located not far from the train station, making it popular with travelers.

They have a broad menu, with options to suit everyone. The ratio of quality to price is fantastic and you will find the staff to be very friendly and helpful. If you’re feeling adventurous, I recommend letting them choose for you. You won’t be disappointed!

Don Pedro

€€€ | Seafood | Amazing Views | Terrace

The owner of this restaurant, Pietro Cacciaviello, decided that he wanted to dedicate himself to traditional Mediterranean cooking. Together with chef Carmelina Pontecorvo’s experience and the help of his children, he has created a wonderful place to dine.

Their specialty, like most restaurants in Sorrento, is seafood. Due to the size and location of the venue, they are very popular with weddings but don’t let that stop you from going and trying their delicious food.

Sit out on their terrace and enjoy stunning views of the Bay of Naples. Go for the lobster and you’ll quickly understand why this is one of the best restaurants in Sorrento.

Address: Via Nastro Verde, 77

Trattoria Da Emilia

€€ | Seafood | Seafront Location | Family Run

If you like seafood, there’s no better place to come than this. The restaurant is on the seafront in the Marina Grande. At certain times, you’ll see the day’s fresh catch being unloaded straight from the boats to the restaurant. It doesn’t get much better or fresher than that!

This family-run restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere in a very traditional setting. What you get here is great home-cooked-style food with a lovely view of the sea and the local way of life. Try the risotto with seafood that comes with various kinds of shellfish and a touch of tomato. Come here and eat to your heart’s content!

Address: Via Marina Grande, 62

Il Buco

€€€€ | Modern Italian Cuisine | Michelin Star

This super modern restaurant in the heart of Sorrento has bucked the trend of the typical and traditional restaurant in the south. Their motto is to bring passion and life to Italian cuisine and what you’ll get are inventive tasting menus with perfect wine pairings.

Unlike many Michelin restaurants where you can’t pronounce half the things you’re eating, Il Buco has kept things real with dishes you’d eat in many Italian restaurants, but with some creative twists. The interior of the restaurant is as beautiful as its dishes. If you’re looking for a gourmet dining experience in Sorrento, make a reservation at Il Buco.

Ristorante Museo Caruso

Photo courtesy of Ristorante Museo Caruso

€€€€ | Elegant Dining Room | Eccentric | Sophisticated Dishes

As the name of the restaurant suggests, the dining experience at Ristorante Museo Caruso is in large part a celebration of Italian opera singer Caruso. It may not be for everyone, but it has a very special feel to it. The walls of the elegant dining room are lined with photos of the singer and your meal will be accompanied by his music. It’s quite the experience!

The food is delicious. Start with some prosecco, move on to a pasta dish, and then eat seafood. If you’re looking for a special experience you can go home and tell your friends about, then make a reservation here.
