Where To Stay in Breckenridge for Skiing in 2025

Brie Greenhalgh Last Updated: November 28, 2024

Ski season is here, and if you haven’t already planned your ski trip to Breckenridge, Colorado, now’s the time to do it. Breckenridge, or Breck as it’s affectionately known, holds the top spot as the closest luxury ski resort to Denver, Colorado. You’ll love the charm and endless activities to do at this mountain ski resort. So to get you going, here’s our list of where to stay in Breckenridge. Don’t wait long to book your trip. These hotels in Breckenridge book fast.

Best Places to Stay in Breckenridge

Breckenridge started out as an old gold mining town in the 1800s and went largely undiscovered for decades. Now, outdoor adventurists clamor for vacation time all year long at this historic mountain resort town that’s often voted as one of the best ski towns in the U.S. Travelers love how close the ski resort is to the town—practically steps away.

Breckenridge has a growing arts district, tons of shopping, fine dining, fun pubs and bars, and family-friendly activities galore. Book a sled dog adventure, go sledding, ice skating, snowmobiling, and much more. And although it can get crowded during peak ski season, it’s charming, hip, historic, and adventurous all in one great package.

As for the Breckenridge Ski Resort, there are nearly 3,000 acres and 187 trails to explore with plenty of options for all levels of skiers and snowboarders. True to Colorado form, you’ll reach serious heights at 12,998 feet here. Over 40% of the resort is considered high alpine terrain.

And of course, there’s an amazing 35-acre terrain park with an 18-foot halfpipe. There’s more than one reason why many Olympians choose to make Breck their home! Get excited with all your options by checking out their trail map. Now that you’re psyched to try these slopes, let’s take a look at where to stay in Breck this winter.

Here’s What You Need To Know:

The closest international airport to Breck is in Denver, so when you land, you’ll need to take I-70 west towards the mountains. The drive to Breck takes about 2.5 hours if the weather is good. Traffic can definitely back up in the mountain as skiers make their way up to (or down from) one of the several ski resorts all along the I-70 corridor, but your destination is worth the effort.

Hi!! My husband and I run the Fireside Inn, a half Hostel, half Bed & Breakfast in downtown Breck. We are only two blocks from Main St. and 3 blocks from the gondola lot. We’d love to be featured in a future article should you choose to write another next year. Thanks for your time and feel free to reach out with any questions you might have! 🙂
