The BEST Guided Tours of Museums in Florence

Extended family travelled to Florence on day trip— 4 parents, 6 kids ranging from age 10-20. We had a great time! Despite Apple maps getting us a little lost from station to meeting point. Giada/Jade was very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about Florence. She adjusted the tour to our interests and even pointed out things for us to do/see/eat afterwards as well as the best route to the station. She kept all members of our family engaged. Private tour was great option for us because of the customization and more importantly the coziness of the group. David was spectacular— and we could easily tell the difference how we were seeing it compared to others.

Please do not take for granted how long the lines WILL be (this is speaking for high season in July, so the winter maybe its better) this is the way to see the David. Lorenzo is very knowledgable, takes you on a very insightful tour throughout the Accademia, not just to the statue of David. However his knowledge for the David is great and is a treat when seeing such an iconic piece of art.

Loved this day trip. The lunch was an absolute highlight with incredible Italian food and wines (both plentiful) - best dessert I’ve ever eaten, some hot nougat and nut morsel… amaze! Also the vineyard host was great. Entertaining and taught us a lot about wine tasting and appreciation. Loved the wander around San giamano - but felt we had a bit too much time in Siena. But would do it again for the lunch!

Loved the tour, especially the winery tour with lunch. Would have liked the guide to do a walk with us in Siena and tell us more about the history. Perhaps for the first hour. Something to consider for future tours. But overall great!

My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour with Ricardo. It was our second day in Florence and we wanted to get an idea of the area and places to focus on. He showed us all around town, stopping at key places for quick photo ops. The finale was a visit to the top of the hill to see the breathtaking view of the entire city. We loved the tour and would highly recommend. We left a generous tip and hope others do as well. Well deserved experience for us.

Daniel our guide was the best ever. Knowledgeable, great personality and showed us the high spots of the Rome tour in a no nonsense matter. If you use the tour guy for Rome you will be 1000 percent satisfied with Daniel. Again he is the best. Ron Goldberg

This tour was fantastic and Marco (our guide) was a wealth of knowledge and history. He clearly had a passion for the history and art and shared all the unique aspects and why the masters were important and different. Marco was amazing, even our younger boys (11 & 13) were able to enjoy the 4 hours of art.

Our tour guide, Mary, was so knowledgeable! She spent over an hour pointing out various works in the Accademia, and giving insight into the Medici family, the difference between Gothic vs Renaissance styles, etc. The Tour culminated with detailed information about Michaelangelo and his statue of David. So glad we took this tour! The Tour company even got us on an earlier tour having arrived 25 minutes before our tour started.

This is a great way to see Pisa and Lucca. It is not intended to be a stay and shop tour more of an I came I saw took the pictures type of tour. Claudia was bus tour guy. This is a bilingual tour. She was excellent. Both tour guided, guides we has for Pisa and Lucca were informative and super sweet and knowledgeable.

We had a wonderful time. Be sure to take your bathing suit for a quick dip! Our guide (Sara) was phenomenal. A long day but worth it for the experience.

We really enjoyed this tour, even my husband who is not a fan of art museums. This was a perfect combo of seeing the David and learning a lot of the history and then a fun and interesting walking tour. Our tour guide Guido was awesome!

We really enjoyed our food tour. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed getting wine from the wine window. Only negative was some of the restaurants were a bit warm - combo of heat wave any maybe not using full a/c. Our tour guide Marco was excellent.

The Accademia is always busy, but our tour guide Galya made even the wait outside the museum pass by quickly. Her knowledge was matched by her humor; making funny comments and telling interesting anecdotes about the building, Michelangelo, the Medici etc. I would highly recommend her, as well as the tour guy.

I had one bucket list item for Florence: David. This tour for our family of 4 was priced well and saved me the aggravation of waiting in line. Our guide was lovely and knowledgable, about much in the museum - not just David. A worthwhile couple of hours.

It was not the same experience I had received from Tour Guy. The local group you “sister” with are not very organized. The tour leader was very difficult to understand, English was iffy. She would tell the group to go somewhere and meet with another local guide, but those locals were often lost in the crowd and there were no consistent way of identifying the “new local guide” especially in Pisa. Lucca trip was much smoother than Pisa. However, the local Pisa guide was very informative once we located her, but the cost of a guided tour of Pisa is really a waste of money. We only went through one building, then were told the rest was free time or climbing tower. Very rushed if you got the later tickets to climb tower.

Our tour guide Rafaela was fantastic! I can't imagine having a better guide. She was just a wealth of knowledge about everything and was so passionate about Michelangelo and Florence! I would definitely recommend this tour. Also, when you are with a guide you don't have to wait on long lines.

This was a great tour! Our guide Anna was so knowledgeable about the art and the artists. She also made the tour interactive and had us apply our newfound art knowledge to various paintings we saw which made it fun for the kids (who can easily get bored with just endless knowledge). Highly recommend

This tour was a wonderful way to get started in Florence. Seeing Michelangelo’s David was certainly a highlight. Our guide Francesca kept an easy pace and provided a well-rounded tour with a lot of historical context, but also information on current culture, shopping, food, and nightlife. Perfect for our family ranging from 16 to 60 years old.

What is a better way to start a visit in a city…..none!!! A food/history/walking tour like this is the best way. Our guide Francesco was extremely knowledgeable with regard to the city, history, food and local customs. We had the best time. I cannot say enough about him. He was pleasant, funny, open to sharing his cooking tips and cooking tips with the local cuisines. I want to do it all over again with him. Definitely a 5 star experience.
