Our family had a great experience all around on this tour. Enjoyed the historical context given to us by our tour guide Marco who was professional and kind; he kept the tour moving without feeling rushed. We were able to stay in the Gallery after the tour to view the other exhibits which was appreciated. Would definitely recommend this tour.

The Statue of David Evening Tour in the Accademia Gallery had some positive aspects, notably Francesca’s engaging approach. She related well with the group and shared a wealth of history about the art, which I truly appreciated. However, the experience didn’t quite match the description of a "quieter, more intimate setting free from the usual crowds." In reality, the gallery was very crowded, with multiple tour groups all viewing the same pieces of art simultaneously. This made it difficult to enjoy a peaceful, unhurried encounter with the art, to include Michelangelo’s David or to truly experience the gallery's tranquility. While Francesca was informative and personable, the crowded environment detracted from the sense of intimacy that was promised. For those seeking a truly private or less crowded experience, this might not be entirely what you’re looking for. Overall, an okay tour, but it fell short of the promised exclusivity.

Francesca was a wonderful tour guide for the Accademia and David. Although the tour is 1.5 hours, this includes time outside, waiting in line to get in and a few minutes to wander at the end. We had plenty of time to see Michelangelo’s sculptures, including David and Francesca provided much information on the time he worked. She also discussed many of the other pieces of art in the museum. Gracie!

Thank you Marco. What an education. We did not just look at a statue, we learned the history of the period, the political, economic and religious leading to the employment of Michelangelo. We learned of Michelangelo's self-confidence (arrogance?) in accepting the commission with complete artistic license. We learned of Michelangelo's spirituality as he revealed David from the marble --removing all that was unnecessary. We even learned how he polished the sculpture. Thank you Marco. Magnificent!

Marta was passionate, informative, and entertaining. The museum’s contents and even the buildings in which it sits had way more meaning than if we had walked the museum ourselves. The skip-the-line entry was also a great bonus. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Accademia Museum.
