My wife and I have done tours like this all over the world, and had guides ranging from poor to great. Martin set a new standard. Kept the group moving at a nice slow pace, extremely knowledgeable, and super personality. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our tour of Versailles today. So organized from the meeting spot, the train ride, and free time to enjoy the gardens. We really enjoy hearing the history of the French Revolution. Amélie shared so much interesting information, we are glad we took the tour! Kate & Joe

First of all I want to say the gardens were the highlight of the trip for my wife and I. Never seen anything quite like them at this scale. Every time we turned a corner we seemed to find a new fountain or sculpture. Take your time and go through the side avenues. The tour through the castle itself was worth it for us just for the historical information we received as we went through each of the opulent rooms. They provided a Navigo card for our return trip to Paris so you can stay at Versailles until it closes and stay even longer for a dinner reservation. All in all a good Roman Guy tour. We’ve been on around 10 now. All have been excellent.

i have been to versailles before on a cold dreary day & it was still crowded, so i thought i was prepared for crowds on a glorious spring day— not exactly— but luckily, there was martin! he was considerate, adept at managing a very diverse group, & wonderfully efficient at navigating the crush of people that is versailles. martin had excellent information & a really pleasant way of sharing his knowledge. he took time to address special inquiries, making detailed information accessible for the whole group. above all, he was kind, confident, & very well-mannered— the epitome of a gentleman. he took extra care to make sure we all felt confident as we embarked on the self-guided portion of the day. truly, a wonderful guide!

Our tour guide was great. Maneuvered us well in the metro. When we got to Versailles, the workers were on strike. He managed to get us in and gave us the full tour even though we started later. Recommend this tour.

Fine Tour But Ticket Issue

Nev did a super job and we enjoyed the tour but afterward there was a problem. The return tickets she gave us were wrong (we did NOT try the printed ones - had disposed of). After we stood in a ticket line for a long time, the ticket agent and us both grumbled. He confirmed that the tickets were to the wrong place and exchanged them for proper ones at no charge. Had this not occured, the tour would have been five star all the way.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and took good care of us. At the meeting point, our guide provided us with the train ticket to get to Versailles. Once we arrived, he provided us with the return train ticket to use when the tour was done. The ticket allows you to get off the train at any of the stops along the way back to Paris. The train ride there and back was very easy and our guide made sure we knew how to return on our own. There was a return train available every 10-15minutes. The Palace is spectacular and well worth the trip. With this tour, we did not have to wait in any long lines. It was so nice to have free time at the end of the tour to walk around in the gardens on our own. We brought a lunch, but honestly we could just have easily bought something at the cafeteria in the gardens. You can also pick up a sandwich once you get off the train in Versailles. The tour guide brings you to a cafe for a short snack and bathroom break before heading to the Palace.
