Great day in Versailles

Thank you for a wonderful day and great tour with Jack (?) . It is quite frustrating to see The Tour Guy company drop prices to book when we spent more money to plan ahead and book 5 months ago. Please use the difference in booking cost to pass on to our guides. : )

Versailles Tour

I booked this tour because it included transportation to and from Paris via coach bus and because it didn’t last an entire precious day in Paris. Was a little apprehensive and annoyed when I was notified (ahead of time) that we would be traveling as a group via train instead of bus. However everything went smoothly! Greeter was waiting at rendezvous point (which was easy to get to via metro), train tickets were provided (although we had purchased weekly Navigo passes and could of just used those) and having the “extra” time on our own to explore at the end of the tour (instead of rushing back to a bus) ended up being quite nice. As for the tour itself- our guide was excellent! I cannot recall his name but he was from England! He provided lots of insightful information. Touring at an off peak time (mid-November) meant lesser waits to get through security, but each room was still PACKED with people. Holy cow, be prepared for that! Our guide mentioned “no one is here today” in the Hall of Mirrors, and there are still hundreds of people in each picture we took. Overall: I recommend this tour! If you are apprehensive about traveling by train, I would still recommend booking this tour (it doesn’t add too much additional walking- if that’s a concern)! If you’re looking for a “brief” introduction to Versailles, I would recommend this tour (we were back in Paris by 2PM and felt that we had a good introduction)! Tip your tour guide people!

We enjoyed our tour with Fabienne. She was very knowledgeable, friendly and efficient! Versailles is overwhelming so it is good to have a guide to point out important facts and explain details like the hidden doors.
