We loved our guide Marina! Very knowledgeable and full of very interesting information about Palatine Hill, the ruins, and the Colloseum that really helped put all the history into perspective. She guided us expertly through the very challenging crowds and was very conscientious about our comfort and well-being. The microphone and earbuds made it very easy to hear everything she said despite all the chaos and noise. Definitely worth the premium for the semi-private tour - much more pleasant with a small group and much easier to get around.

This is our second tour with The Roman Guy at the Colosseum (the first was in 2018), and again we had the pleasure of being led by an intelligent archeologist who not only gave us the information she had planned, but also answered numerous detailed questions. She was also great with our kids, and all around charming! Could not be happier!

Enjoyed the tour—guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant. Only issue was feeling rushed at Palatine Hill due to set entry time for Colosseum—little time to stop and take pictures. If you can’t walk fast, this tour is not for you.

Our tour of the Roman ruins was fantastic. Our tour guide, a lovely young local woman, spoke excellent English. High-quality microphones and earpieces were provided. The sound was superior to most tours that I had taken. Her advanced degree in archeology enabled her to explain everything in depth. We learned what life was like in ancient Rome, and understood the reality of life then, and the motivation for the continual conquests and the games. I am now motivated to study further.
