We had a fabulous tour with Ella. Ella, a Rome native, was our tour guide. As an art historian, she was very passionate and knowledgeable. Dimitri was great. I think I’m remembering his name correctly. Very informative. Funny. I liked him a lot. But all of these tours go on too long. Two hours is a lot of listening and standing. I think one hour would be much better.

I can unconditionally recommend this Galleria Borghese tour!! From start to finish, it was a really positive experience (and SO different from 2 other experiences we have had on our trip to Rome.) Our guide Marlena (I hope I have her name right - the “tall one” :-) was incredibly knowledgeable - she made the art and the artists come to life. She ensured all our group (of 13) was able to view the art from different angles to maximize our understanding of the pieces. She showed a depth of knowledge in answering our questions, and seemed genuinely enthusiastic for the art and the history she shared with us. The Dooing tour group via The Tour Guy was well organized, they sent multiple reminders prior to our booking, provided a phone number in case of “day of” emergencies, and had 3 representatives on site who spoke multiple languages. Very very happy with this one. (Please avoid tours from “Italy with Family” — this group cancelled our coliseum tour with NO notice. And at the Vatican, our official tour guide was obviously bored and tired, showing no enthusiasm for the museum. It made SUCH a huge and positive difference to have such a skilled guide on this tour of the Borghese Gallery. Thank you to the whole team!

Our guide was excellent. She provided many useful insights also, because of my mobility issues, she coordinated the use of wheelchairs on the two floors with museum staf. The collection is overwhelming and having a guide to point out significant objects and facts was very useful at the conclusion, my wife and I read that it would have been challenging to simply enter on a simple admission ticket.. The audio system worked well and you were able to fully comprehend the guides comments.
