Fantastic Information But Rushed in Sistine Chapel

We had a fantastic tour and our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the artifacts and painting qualities. The organization and communication from the tour company was great. And we had very few crowds as we toured the Vatican Museums. However, be careful with this time slot. The guards in the Sistine Chapel closed early and we only ended up with about five minutes in the Chapel itself. It was way too short. Knowing this might happen, the guide needs to cut the rest of the tour short to allow plenty of time inside the highlight of the tour. I did contact the tour company to provide feedback and they were extremely responsive and respectful. It was totally outside of their control, but unfortunate none the less. So book this slot with care. The benefit of less crowds should be weighed with the closing time of the Sistine Chapel.

Nina was incredible! In 2 hours she shared a wealth of knowledge and insight. My 2 teenagers and my pre-teen stayed engaged as well! Doing the last tour of the day also paid off, as the crowds were low and we were able to get close to many pieces in the Vatican collection. Nina took time before we entered the Sistine chapel to help us more deeply understand the intricate and beautiful art we would be observing. We walked away blown away by the experience. Highly recommend!!

Tour great but Museum snafu caused problem

Our guide Fabrizio was fantastic! I would love to do another longer tour with him! Unfortunately, their was a snafu with our tickets that he had to spend 10 minutes or more straightening out withe Museum staff. So by the time our tour was over, we only had 2 or 3 minutes in the Sistine Chapel before the employees were shouting, "Closing time, everyone out!" It was unfortunate, but clearly not Fabrizio's fault...

This tour was a great first time experience of the Vatican for my husband. Evening hours meant less people and the ability to actually see what Eleanora, our energetic guide, was referring to as she spoke. We were able to end the visit actually being able to sit in the Sistine chapel and marvel.

Eleanora was absolutely mesmerizing as a guide. She breathed life and history into the works of art and helped connect the dots in who influenced who, why certain pieces were significant, and particular details that the untrained eye might not notice. It's clear that she is incredibly educated and deeply passionate about the art of the Vatican, as well as the Vatican itself, and her enthusiasm and knowledge really enriched the experience of visiting the Vatican for the first time. This tour was at the end of the day on our last day in Rome and we very nearly cancelled it, not wanting to battle the crowds. My teenagers and I were all very thankful that we didn't cancel, as this was a highlight of our week in Rome!

Cristina guided our group through the museum in the perfect amount of time. We definitely saw more than just the highlights, and having Cristina explain what we were seeing was much more interesting than the Vatican’s recorded guide. I would highly recommend this tour.

My children and I had the pleasure of having John lead our tour. We were impressed with his mastery of the subject matter and the concise and clear manner he delivered it. Even though he must have done the same tour hundreds of times, his enthusiasm remained high and obviously sincere. Will highly recommend!

Our family of 4 enjoyed this wonderful tour of the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel led by Nina. We started with a beautiful vantage point of St Peter Basilica dome then learned about fascinating details of the Sistine Chapel. I believe Nina studied art because she was very knowledgeable about many details of the art even pointing your details that we would have normally missed and just walked by. I enjoy art but did not appreciate renaissance works until this tour. Knowing the history and story behind School of Athens, the Sistine Chapel and some of the other important artworks really made this tour meaningful and memorable for me. Even my teenager, who usually starts checking out during tours, was impressed and loved School of Athens because of what she learned during the tour. Highly recommend this tour with Nina as she is so knowledgeable and very warm and personable. Thank you Nina!
