Your tour begins in central Rome
Meet your guide in central Rome and step onto a comfortable coach as the city wakes up around you. Settle in and watch Rome’s streets give way to open roads and soft morning light.
Drive into the Tuscan countryside
As you head north, the scenery shifts to wide fields, olive groves, and hilltop villages in the distance. Your guide points out the volcanic landscapes around Lake Bolsena and explains why this area is famous for its wines.
Cross the Civita di Bagnoregio footbridge
Park in the modern village below and take a short shuttle to the footbridge entrance. From there, walk the dramatic 300-meter pedestrian bridge into Civita, with sweeping views of pale tufa cliffs, deep ravines, and sharp ridgelines.
Wander Civita’s narrow streets
Once inside, take 1.5 hours of free time to roam narrow stone lanes and quiet piazzas. Pause at panoramic viewpoints where the air feels cooler and the landscape drops away in every direction, then duck into small shops before meeting back up.
Transfer to a family-run winery in Montepulciano
Next, head into the Montepulciano countryside to visit a family-run winery. Begin with a visit to the Franciscan cellar, where you’ll sample typical local products such as pecorino, prosciutto, salame, capocollo, and bruschetta with olive oil. If time allows, you may also have the chance to explore the small cellar museum.
Enjoy a handmade pici lunch with wine tastings
After the tasting, sit down for a warm, rustic meal featuring handmade pici pasta with traditional aglione sauce. Pair lunch with three wines, then finish with cantucci and Vin Santo.
Stroll Pienza at your own pace
After lunch, continue to Pienza for 1 hour of free time in this Renaissance hill town. Walk the honey-colored streets, browse local food shops, and take in broad Val d’Orcia views that look like a painted landscape.
Your tour ends in central Rome
In the evening, ride back to central Rome as the light fades over the countryside. Return to where the day began with a full camera roll and that "just-left-Tuscany" feeling.

Please Note: Civita di Bagnoregio requires a moderate amount of walking, including crossing a 300-meter pedestrian bridge and navigating hilly, cobblestone streets. Wear comfortable shoes and bring layers, as temperatures can shift between Rome, the hilltop village, and Tuscany.

Aupin was a great tour guide Very knowledgeable and engaging Right to the last minute he had so much energy Bagnoreggio and Pienza are pretty little towns Make sure to wear running shoes bc the hike up the bridge is short but steep and it starts and ends with several steps Wine cellar was nice to see Lunch was nice with fresh homemade pasta and wine tasting Overall I would recommend this tour

We absolutely loved our tour guide, Marilena—“Mar,” “Mari,” or whatever you’d like to call her! 😜 She is intelligent, funny, genuinely interesting, and has such an inspiring life story. She struck the perfect balance between sharing extra historical context for those who wanted it and giving everyone space to relax or catch up on sleep during the drive. Each stop allowed plenty of time to take in the views, snap photos, and even make a quick café stop. Everyone in our group is fairly athletic, so we had no issues with the walking, but the cardio was definitely put to the test—especially under the intense sun. Come prepared with comfortable shoes, water, and sun protection! Unfortunately, there was a fatal accident on the highway during our return trip, which added about 1.5 hours to the drive back to Rome. Of course, that was completely outside the tour’s control. On the bright side, the delay gave us the chance to enjoy a beautiful Italian sunset over the countryside. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and a tour we would absolutely recommend. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great tour! Mari was an incredible host along with Marc Anthony’s driving . The trip took is to Tuscany under the sun along with seeing Civita and Pienza and the swap meet at the end of your tour. The bus tour was just what we needed to beat the heat and escape Rome. Marilena shared a wealth of information along our way. The walk to Citiva di Bagnoregio was a bit difficult with the steepness of the hills but such a cute little town to see. We truly enjoyed Pienza and our vineyard lunch and wine. Marilena looked after us and ensured we all had a wonderful day!

Great all-around tour if you go with the plan. It is the easiest way to visit 3 sites in a day. We were surprised at how much we enjoyed Civita and were not aware of the site or history before booking this tour. Lunch and wine tasting was truly top-notch and final stop was breathtaking. We have already recommended this tour to others. Just be ready to relax in comfortable air-conditioned seats for the long ride home which provided a great way to relax on the way home. Giuliano took very good care of all the stragglers making sure everyone was comfortable and at ease. We just wish there was more information provided related to the history and unique items of the areas we were passing through and Tuscany in general.

We really enjoyed the day trip from Rome. The stops were wonderful. The beauty of this region cannot be appreciated through pictures. Seeing it first hand was amazing. This trip does require a lot of walking, especially the first stop. Stairs and walking up and down a steep incline is involved to cross the bridge to get into this absolutely beautiful village. Definitely not for people who have mobility issues or who cannot climb stairs or inclines. . The lunch was delicious at the beautiful winery/farm, and they served a lot of food and different wine tastings. Definitely would recommend this tour to anyone interested in exploring the beauty of Tuscany.

This was the highlight of my trip to Rome. The walkway was scary for someone with fear of heights but I did it and it was worth everything. A beautiful jewel hidden away. The vineyard lunch was perfect.

Great tour if you wanna see some Tuscan countryside and have an extra day in Rome. We had already seen all the major sites in Rome and wanted a change in scenery. The views were absolutely gorgeous. Mari, our tour guide was very accommodating and patient with our large group. We highly recommend.

Marilena did an amazing job as our guide! Extremely knowledgeable and pleasant. This was a small group tour which made it very relaxed and pleasant. Although it was a long day, the experience was well worth it and the mini bus was very comfortable. Tuscany was so beautiful and Civita di Bagnoregio is an absolute must see. The amount of time planned for each stop was perfect. I highly recommend this tour. Also, this was our first time using this tour company and would definitely use them again.

What a great day! We visited three diverse sites, Nina gave us freedom and flexibility. The winery meal was a blast, wish it could have been another hour or two! Nina made this tour fun and interesting.

This is an amazing tour. The scenery is incredible! If you have knee or hip issues please note it is a difficult walk to Civita di Bagnoregio. I did the walk with a bad hip and although it was difficult, I am so glad I went. It is a magical place. The winery was fantastic as well. The food and wine were delicious. This tour is a must do if you come to Rome.
