Itinerary
Your tour begins in central Rome
Meet your guide in central Rome and step onto a comfortable coach as the city wakes up around you. You settle in and watch Rome’s streets give way to open roads and soft morning light.
Drive into the Tuscan countryside
As you head north, the scenery shifts to wide fields, olive groves, and hilltop villages in the distance. Your guide points out the volcanic landscapes around Lake Bolsena and explains why this area is famous for its wines.
Cross the Civita di Bagnoregio footbridge
Park in the modern village below and take a short shuttle to the footbridge entrance. From there, walk the dramatic 300-meter pedestrian bridge into Civita, with sweeping views of pale tufa cliffs, deep ravines, and sharp ridgelines.
Wander Civita’s narrow streets
Once inside, you have 1.5 hours of free time to roam narrow stone lanes and quiet piazzas. Pause at panoramic viewpoints where the air feels cooler and the landscape drops away in every direction, then duck into small shops before meeting back up.
Transfer to a family-run winery in Montepulciano
Next, head into the Montepulciano countryside to visit a family-run winery. Begin with a visit to the Franciscan cellar, where you’ll sample typical local products such as pecorino, prosciutto, salame, capocollo, and bruschetta with olive oil. If time allows, you may also have the chance to explore the small cellar museum.

This was exactly what we needed: a low-key, relaxed and informative tour and itinerary through two cities we wanted to (re)visit. Civita is truly an exceptional and intimate town, and Pienza is beautiful. Just enough time in each location, and the lunch was truly wonderful and memorable.
Giuliano was a good host - personable and well organized. Thank you!
Great tour. Beautiful views

Great tour if you wanna see some Tuscan countryside and have an extra day in Rome. We had already seen all the major sites in Rome and wanted a change in scenery. The views were absolutely gorgeous. Mari, our tour guide was very accommodating and patient with our large group. We highly recommend.

Marilena did an amazing job as our guide! Extremely knowledgeable and pleasant. This was a small group tour which made it very relaxed and pleasant. Although it was a long day, the experience was well worth it and the mini bus was very comfortable. Tuscany was so beautiful and Civita di Bagnoregio is an absolute must see. The amount of time planned for each stop was perfect. I highly recommend this tour. Also, this was our first time using this tour company and would definitely use them again.

This is an amazing tour. The scenery is incredible!
If you have knee or hip issues please note it is a difficult walk to Civita di Bagnoregio. I did the walk with a bad hip and although it was difficult, I am so glad I went. It is a magical place.
The winery was fantastic as well. The food and wine were delicious.
This tour is a must do if you come to Rome.

I had a wonderful experience with the Tour Guy’s Tuscany day trip. Lorenzo, our guide’s great peoples skills , managed to transform a bunch of strangers into what seemed like a friends outing instead of just another typical tour.
Fantastic day!

Perfect way to get out of the city and see the countryside with plenty of time to explore the sites on your own plus a nice lunch/wine tasting thrown in. Mari our guide was fabulous and made our day with her knowledge and humor ! My wife left her watch on the bus and she and her husband brought it to us at our hotel that evening. We are so grateful for her act of kindness !

Our tour to the Tuscany experience was incredible! We really enjoyed the staff and how attentive they were to accommodate us along with others as well. Mari Elena , Alexia and Ana Maria were very professional and charismatic and it definitely added to this experience in the tour . They were very knowledgeable about Tuscany and even check in on us from time to time which I really appreciated. Overall this experience was awesome and I will be recommending family and friends on this tour .

Bright skies framed our lunch tables as Simone joined during refills and made sure everyone felt included. Shared dishes encouraged conversation, and soft breezes carried laughter across the vines. It felt more like a friendly gathering than a planned tour.

Amazing day trip! The fields stretched around our table making it a scenic escape, while glasses were refilled and stories shared. Lunch felt generous and unrushed. I appreciated how naturally conversations flowed, turning strangers into friendly faces by the time dessert arrived.
A great day trip from Rome!
