Unforgettable Rome Day Trip to Pompeii and Sorrento

Pompei and Sorrento were excellent and worth the trip.

The destinations are worth the trip. Very knowledgeable and helpful guides. We were a small group so we went in a small bus/van. The seats were tiny and the A/C could barely keep up. The ride is my only complaint.

Sorrento and Pompeii

Overall the tour was good if not long (but I was prepared for that). We made a roadside pit stop in Cassino which broke up the trip nicely. The tour guide was okay… spoke a lot about things unrelated to the trip but had some interesting things to say. We stopped at a limoncello factory which was great.. delicious samples and many things for purchase. We then spent an hour and a half in Sorrento which I thought was a bit too short. We then drove and hour to Pompeii which was fascinating. The guide, Antonio was was very good and incredibly passionate. However, the language barrier and accent made it difficult to understand at times. The ride home was exceptionally long but only because we travelled over an Italian long weekend which created a lot of traffic. Overall, it was a fun day.

Mario was a wonderful guide for the day. It’s a lot of van time (which we knew) which was quite tiring and made for a long day. I wish we had more time at Pompeii with a chance to see the theaters. Sasha, our guide at Pompeii, was knowledgeable.

Efficient way to see the highlights of Rome.

To maximize my time in Rome, I did this tour and I loved it! Our tour guide was Giovanni and he was wonderful and very knowledgeable. He would give us a quick lesson (in the shade!) before we saw something new so we knew what to look for and told us when/where to take pictures at the more photogenic locations, even taking them for us! We definitely felt taken care of. Would highly recommend this tour and I may even do it again in the future.

Amazing time!

We had an amazing day out. Mario was our tour guide and he was wonderful. Very chill and fun to talk to. He knew a lot about the areas we passed en route to both Sorrento and Pompeii. Sacha was our guide through Pompeii and he was very knowledgable about the city. Shout out as well to our driver Paulo. All three were amazing and led to a great time. Just wish we got a bit longer to explore both Sorrento and Pompeii, as the two hours in each flew by, though we understand the time constraints due to the travel time needed.

A wonderful tour

Our family had a great day! Both stops were amazing. Paula, our guide for the day, was very friendly, knowledgeable and made great recommendations throughout the day. Carlo, our guide in Pompeii was also great. Our guides seemed to genuinely enjoy leading our group and made us very comfortable on the trip. The direction provided on where to go and meet in the morning and where to meet while on the tour made everything easy.

Our guide at Pompeii Sasha was very knowledgeable and had a great presentation. Mario was a kind leader on our bus ride and travel between cities. My critique of this tour was the choice of restroom stop in Casino. We were taken to a building on the outside that appeared in shambles to a restroom/ conscience store that seemed primed for tourists with terribly high prices . Our previous tour experiences in Italy (not with the tour guy) we stopped at amazing Auto grills along the highway. I have no idea why this tour would choose this location for a tour rest stop ?? It would have also been nice to be allowed a few minutes of time at Pompeii to visit the gift shop prior to departure. It all seemed a little rushed.

Great way to fit Pompeii into to your Rome visit

This was a great way to squeeze in a visit to Pompeii from Rome. It was a quick visit and I would have liked more time at Pompeii, but we also enjoyed the opportunity to see the Amalfi coast and explore Sorrento. Our guide, Antonio Rosato, at Pompeii did a great job with the history and highlights in our quick visit. Alessandro, our guide for the rest of the trip, provided lots of good info and humor.

It was great to see all the sites but it was too long. The guide was great.

Wonderful experience

Our guide in Pompeii was informative, answering many questions from my kids and gave a fabulous tour. Highly recommend. Sorrento was so beautiful we wish we had longer there or planned a whole day. Our driver Paolo was a great driver and we think everyone should book with him

Had fun and learned a lot

Alessandro and Mario did a great job of escorting us on the bus, providing information and helping us when we unexpectedly needed guidance to a farmacia. Thank you to both our bus guides and our tour guides in Pompeii itself.

Unforgettable day w Mario!

Definitely worth the price for the quality tour we had in Pompeii and the personal tips from our very friendly knowledgeable well spoken guide, Mario. Nice long break in beautiful Sorrento and also a truly indescribable view for lunch w excellent food even though I was initially skeptical it was a tourist trap. Good size of a group too. Only improvement to suggest would be buses could be cooler.

Pompeii & Sorrento day trip from Rome

Marco is great. He is attentive and approachable at anytime. He also provided information along the way about the area, including the history and some point of interest. Frank, our driver, is great. His ride is smooth even through winding roads. Antonio, our tour guide in pompeii, was very informative and passionate of Pompeii. He provided detailed history about Pompeii.

Pompeii was great but

Our family enjoy seeing Pompeii. Unforgettable experience. However we were 5 people plus 3 other people who traveled with us and the Van was quite cramped. Too small for our group. The tour guide in Pompeii was ok but I wished he wasn’t so focus on the sexual behavior of the people of Pompeii. It didn’t need to be like that. And he at times was moving too fast for our group. The terrain was rough. The Sorrento part to us was a bit of waste. You spend maybe 2 hours. Just enough to have lunch then head back. Would not recommend the trip if Sorrento included. Would recommend a trip to Pompeii alone.

We had a great tour with Alessandro as our guide & Andreas as the driver. Alessandro was super informative & knowledgeable and also very funny and kind. He even gave me coins to use a public bathroom. We would definitely choose this tour again and can’t thank the team enough for a wonderful day
