Since many sites on this tour can only be explored on foot and there will be some uneven terrain, please also wear comfortable shoes. Please be prepared to cover your knees and shoulders in places of worship such as the Sistine Chapel.

Our guide Manuela S. was very professional and knowledgeable as well as our driver. We were skeptical that we could see all the highlights of Rome in a day but she delivered. It was very crowded in Rome on our port day and there was no way we could have done it on our own. My only suggestion would be for more communication from the tour company before our scheduled date. Other than that we were very happy with the results. We will use this company again in the future.

Our driver picked us up at our ship and drove us to Rome. Jon Carlo drove very safely and was friendly. The vehicle was very nice and clean, but the second row of seats faced backwards, would have been much better if forward facing. We met our guide Marco, we had a slow start, he seamed to be giving too much information before we saw any sights, but once we got to the Collosseum things got a lot better. He got us up close and gave us a good tour. Then to Trevi fountain, once again got us up front and explained the coin toss. Finally to The Vatican, we had a very informative and enjoyable tour. We were returned to our ship in plenty of time, no worries.

Everything was perfect…our drivers picked us up at the port and transported us to Rome. There we met our tour leader, Roberta. Roberta was amazing…she was very knowledgeable and told us all about the sites we were seeing; coordinated our lunch with a local restaurant; and ensured the vans were there to pick us up and take us to our next destination…everything was flawless! Roberta and the drivers were absolutely amazing! If you are going to Rome on a cruise ship, I highly recommend you book your tour through The Tour Guy!!

This is an amazing day. Well worth every penny. We took a cruise to Rome & there where places on my bucket list that I had to go to. The Tour Guy made it happen in the short amount of time that we had. It was just three of us for this day trip. The driver picked us up & the port, & along the way we picked up our tour guide. She was fabulous. Being born & raised in Spain she new everything & more. We went to the Trevi Foundation, the Colosseum, a few other stops, had lunch & finished at the Vatican. Front of the line tickets where included which was a must. If I had to do this on my own I wouldn't have been able to in the amount of time we had. The Vatican has 28-30K people a day visiting & the lines are insane. Plus there are lines for everything. With our tour guide we only waited 20 minutes for security check. Same thing in the Colosseum. I am truly thankful for this day. I learned so much history that I wouldn't have from reading a tour guide book on my own. This is the way to travel when you visit places like Rome with little time. I truly didn't feel rushed. Plus I had someone to take our family photos which is a plus. The only negative thing I have to say & it's about The Tour Guy company is their communication. I was told that someone would text me 24 hours in advance with info. I only received email that said your tour starts in 24 hours. I sent 3 emails, a text & called 10 times within 48 hours of my tour (which the line said busy & hug up each time) never heard from anyone. Therefor on my day of my tour I was nervous no one would show up. Now I did speak to the company after I booked my tour to confirm everything. I received email confirmation as well. Though that was over a month before my tour. With that being said I will use The Tour Guy again, it was a fabulous day. My driver was amazing & my tour guide. She was Fabulous.

We had a great time. Eduardo our driver was excellent from picking up to dropping off and everything in between. Our Tour guide Enza was very knowledgeable and made the day enjoyable with stops at the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Colosseum, and finishing at the Vatican. Our guide Enza and driver Leonardo were fantastic, they worked with us to accommodate mobility issues and make sure we could see everything. Customer service from The Tour Guy isn’t very good. They are slow to respond to emails, and if/when they do respond, they are usually not helpful.

We had a wonderful tour with our guide Marco & driver. It was a crowded day in Rome, but Marco & our driver was able to take us to all the sites we wished to visit. Marco is extremely knowledgeable about the Colosseum, Vatican & all of Rome. He was also very patient with our two kids. I would definitely recommend visiting Rome with Marco & our talented driver.

We got a text 2 weeks out from our tour that they canceled our tour and refunded us. I tried responding to the text and calling the main number, but no response. That left us scrambling because we thought we had skip the line tickets secured with this tour but now we can’t even get skip the line tickets on our own because it’s sold out since it’s so last minute. I’ve even reached out to other tours but they are all booked.

We are from the US. Never traveled to Europe before. We did the Rome in a day tour with transfer from our cruise. The transporter was 10/10. And our tour guide was a 10/10!!!!! She knew everything about Rome. And then we ate at La Catina Di Cesare Osteria which was amazing. Overall 10/10 A+++++++ Thank you for an amazing trip full of memories!

Great tour and reasonable prices. Our guide Miguel was not only knowledgeable but also very engaging. There was no waiting in line as we walked straight to the security checkpoint. Our group was small, 7 visitors and Sagrada Familia was not overcrowded. Would highly recommend the tour at this time of year (March).

Our cruise line didn’t have pre planned excursions for our port day outside of Rome. Our group chose the full day which was long but accomplished the goal. Our driver picked us up at8 am and we met our guide (Fabrezio?) at the Vatican museum. She is extremely knowledgeable and engaging. As a historian there is almost nothing she can’t answer. Since the sights are so busy we would have like to use the quiet vox hearing pieces (like at St Peters) for the day and that would be something to consider for the future. The driving to and from the port is a little crazy with the Roman traffic .

The Roman Guy tours went out of their way to accommodate 8 seniors on a whirlwind one-day tour of Rome. This tour was excellent. It was very busy but that was our choice because we were on a cruise day and the only way we could get in the Colosseum and The Vatican and a few other main stops was by booking a private tour. Well worth the money!! Our driver and tour guide were amazing.

I wasn't sure if it was possible, but we definitely were able to experience Rome in a day! We were picked up on time at our cruise port and met our tour guide in Vatican City. I learned sooo much about the inside stories of the Vatican that I know I would never have learned going on our own. We went to all the big spots without having to find parking, waiting in lines or wearing head phones to hear our guide. Well worth the money! Will use the Roman Guy again!!
Rome was neither built nor burned in a day. However I saw it all.

I found The Roman Guy videos on YouTube and booked a shore excursion. In aligning to my cruise agenda, this private escorted tour hit all the right notes of my first tour of Rome and Vatican City. I was promptly met by my driver Daniela at the port and coordinated to meet my guide Enza Broccoli. Enza's enthusiasm and knowledge was exactly what I was looking for in a guided tour. I was provided a historical overview with special attention to everything thing surrounding me. The gladiator's entrance onto the arena floor of the Colosseum was a nice treat for perspective. The visit to Vatican City and Sistine Chapel were the pinnacle of this tour. Enza provided guidance on the art works, tapestries and important works within the museum and St. Peter's. A professional guide and expert. I was met back to Daniela and was taken back to my ship efficiently for embarkation.

I read a lot of other reviews about The Roman Guy's service quality and they definitely stand up to their reviews. The kind of service you would expect from a 5 star hotel. We were 6 people and this tour came out to less than our what our cruise ship charged. I couldn't be happier.
