Good to know:
Dress Code: Comfortable walking shoes are essential for exploring Pompeii's ancient streets and uneven terrain. Bring layers, as temperatures can vary throughout the day.
Accessibility: Unfortunately, this tour is not wheelchair accessible due to the ancient, uneven terrain at Pompeii and the extensive walking involved.
Food and Drinks: Lunch is not included, but you'll have free time in Sorrento to purchase food at local cafés and restaurants.
Weather Advisory: Pompeii is largely an outdoor site with limited shade. During summer months, bring sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of water. In cooler months, a light jacket is recommended.
Bag Policy: Large backpacks or luggage are not permitted at Pompeii. Please bring only small bags or daypacks.
Please Note: This is a long day trip with early morning departure and evening return. The tour involves several hours of walking at Pompeii on uneven ancient surfaces.

Great Day Trip to Pompeii and the Almafi Coast

My husband and I signed up for this tour on our honeymoon in August of 2026. Our tour guide Paola was incredible in her knowledge and super friendly. The bus ride is somewhat long, but we took little pitstops at a cafe and then also the Limoncello factory where we received free tastings of various products like alcohol, chocolates, and cooking oils. Then we drove to the Amalfi Coast where we got about 1 hour and 40 minutes of free time in Sorrento. Afterwards, we boarded back onto the bus and went to Pompeii. Our tour guide there was named Sasha, and he was simply amazing. My ear bud didn’t work so he made sure I was right next to him the entire time to make sure I could hear everything. He had a great friendly personality and we could tell he absolutely cared about what he taught us there. The tour at Pompeii was only about 1 hour and 50 minutes, but it was filled with information and details we would have never known. I would 100% recommend this tour to our friends and family if they ever travel.

They did a great job! Unfortunately we had some very rude people in our group who did not know what they had signed up for so they were not polite with their opinions. Maria Elena did talk a lot, and some was unnecessary, but overall she gave good information. The trip was a success despite traffic. Pompeii was amazing!

The tour was great! Mario, our first tour guy was very knowledgeable, funny and respectful, answering all our questions. Later in Pompei, Miriam our guide was great and gave me a lot of history of the place. Congratulations also for the excellent driver!! The tour bus was very comfortable and there were brief but necessary stops along the way for a quick snack and use of the restroom. Thank you for a great experience!!

We took this day trip from Rome and Sasha was our guide in Pompeii. I thought I knew the story of Pompeii but Sasha added a lot to my understanding and made the story and ancient city come alive.

This day trip from Rome was the perfect way to knock out two bucket-list spots without having to navigate Italy’s complicated regional train system on my own. Starting the morning in Sorrento with some fresh limoncello and those cliffside views of the Bay of Naples was a vibe, especially with a solid couple of hours to grab a real pizza and just wander. The transition to Pompeii was seamless, and having an actual archaeologist guide us through the ruins made the history feel much more visceral than if I’d just been reading plaques. It’s a full 12-hour day and you’ll definitely get your steps in, but for a 30-something traveler, it’s a high-value, low-stress way to see the south and still be back in Rome for a late dinner.
