After just a short drive north of Rome, you'll come to our first hidden gem of the day, the town of Civita di Bagnoregio.

After being dropped off near to the walkway that takes you into Civita di Bagnoregio, and you'll be given the freedom to explore this incredible hilltop town. So, what is so special about it? Believe it or not, this once prosperous medieval fortress town now counts only 14 permanent residents! Dubbed the "Dying City", take stroll through its car-free streets and feel like you've stepped into a different era.
This place is true photographer's dream, with quiet side streets and enchanting stone buildings that date back centuries. After plenty of free time to enjoy the town, stroll back down the walkway to meet your driver, ready to set off towards Orvieto.
Please be aware that a city fee of €5 must be paid locally at Civita di Bagnoregio.
Cobbled Streets and Vibrant Culture in Orvieto
Orvieto is a small city perched high upon a volcanic tuff midway between Rome and Florence. Its history dates back to medieval times and the incredible Old Town area still holds much of the same architecture and atmosphere as it has done for generations. After being dropped of by your driver, you'll have free time to discover this wonderful city for yourself.
Stroll through narrow streets, beautiful churches, and historic monuments, then take a peek inside the Orvieto Duomo that dominates the Old Town. Orvieto has some excellent boutique shops where you can buy some souvenirs, and you'll also have plenty of time to enjoy a delicious lunch. With Umbria being famed for its great Italian food, the choice of tasty restaurants are plentiful and our team will be happy to reserve one of their favorite places if you'd like to experience a typical trattoria in the town.

After filling up on some delicious local delicacies, it's time for wine! Your driver will take you to a popular nearby winery, where you'll enjoy a private tour of the cellars, learn about the importance of wine in the region, and see the methods used to produce it. Once you're all clued up on Umbrian wine, you'll then get to enjoy some of the finest wines the region has to offer as part of a curated wine tasting with a local expert.
After you've feasted your senses throughout the day and run down the battery on your phone, your driver will deliver you back safely to your accommodation in Rome in time for the evening.
