Explore the 1st and 2nd tiers of the Colosseum
Walk through the Colosseum’s first and second levels with your guide, pausing to look down into the underground chambers below. As you take in the sweeping views, your guide brings the arena to life with stories of roaring crowds, gladiator battles, and the spectacle of ancient Rome’s most dramatic events.
Explore the Palatine Hill

Good to know:
Dress Code: Comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes are recommended, as you’ll be walking on uneven terrain.
Accessibility: Due to uneven terrain and historic surfaces, this tour isn’t suitable for wheelchairs or strollers. A soft baby carrier is recommended. For guests with mobility concerns we recommend to consider joining our Private Colosseum Tour.
ID Requirement: A valid government-issued ID is required to enter the Colosseum. The name on your ticket must match your ID or entry may be denied.
Tour Changes: Depending on the assigned entry time for the Colosseum, your tour might enter the Roman Forum first and end in the Colosseum. It is also possible this tour might run in reverse. Either way, you’ll enjoy the full experience with your guide.
Children: All visitors, regardless of age, need a ticket for the Colosseum. Each child’s ticket must match their government-issued ID. Passports are recommended.
Disability certification: Visitors with valid disability certification are eligible for a reduced €2 entry ticket to the Colosseum, which also applies to one companion. Contact us after booking to arrange this. This applies to the ticket cost only, not the tour price.
Bag Policy: For quicker entry, please leave large backpacks and wheeled bags at your accommodation as they aren’t permitted inside the Colosseum. All bags will be screened at security.
Lines: This tour includes group access to the Colosseum, allowing you to skip the main lines for individual visitors. You’ll still pass through a security check before entering, which may involve a short wait.
Check-in: Please arrive 15 minutes early so your group can enter right on time and make the most of your visit.

We loved the tour through the Colosseum and Forum with Elena. She was very knowledgable and gave us so much information. Half our group had been to the Colosseum before, so it was nice hearing and seeing different parts. One suggestion we have would be to hurry through the Colosseum a little quicker. We felt we spent too much time in the Colosseum going over probably too many details and didn't have as much time going through the Forum and Palatine Hill. Elena was very good and knowledgeable and we did enjoy our tour with her.

This tour is the best way to see the Colosseum! We were able to skip the long lines and get right up front. Frederico provided so much insight and information about the history of the Colosseum, Roman Forum & Palatine Hill. I would definitely recommend this tour!

I was astounded by the sheer beauty and unbelievable history of today’s tour. Basil was a great guide, highlighted the different eras and empires and how inter-related they were. He was very knowledgeable and enjoyed sharing wanting the guests to have the best experience possible. Regrettably one guest gave some pretty negative feedback ( which I found unwarranted) and the whole tour heard her complaint. Basil did a great job on a busy, warm and sunny day!
