Guide tips

Itinerary

Your tour begins at the Rodin Museum entrance

Meet your private guide at the main entrance of the Rodin Museum, with the exact spot on your voucher. Over the next 2 hours, your guide introduces the life and genius of Auguste Rodin and shapes the visit around what interests you most.

Contemplate The Thinker in the gardens

Step into the peaceful gardens to stand before The Thinker, Rodin's bronze figure lost in thought. Your guide explains how this seated man, first tied to The Gates of Hell, grew into a global symbol of human reflection and creativity.

Examine The Gates of Hell

Next, move to The Gates of Hell, a towering bronze portal crowded with more than 200 writhing figures drawn from Dante's Inferno. Your guide points out tormented souls and hidden details that reveal Rodin's vision of human passion and struggle.

Discover The Burghers of Calais

Wander deeper into the grounds to find The Burghers of Calais, six weary figures surrendering to save their town during the Hundred Years' War. Your guide recounts the sacrifice behind this group and Rodin's raw, unflinching realism.

Admire The Kiss inside the Hôtel Biron

Head indoors to the elegant Hôtel Biron, where The Kiss captures two lovers from Dante's Inferno in a tender marble embrace. Take time to ask your private guide questions about the story and the challenges Rodin faced carving such emotion.

Explore Rodin's personal collection

Continue through the mansion to see The Hand of God, where creation emerges from rough, unfinished marble. Nearby, The Eternal Spring celebrates young love and The Danaïde draws on Greek myth, revealing the range of Rodin's imagination.

Your tour ends inside the Rodin Museum

As the tour wraps up, your guide leaves you inside the museum with time to revisit any favorite works at your own pace. Linger in the galleries or stroll the gardens once more before continuing your day in the Palais-Bourbon district.

If you're studying art, you should definitely take this tour. Our guide broke down Rodin's impact on modern sculpture and it opened my mind. The guide was really able to take her time at each piece and even asked if there were any in particular that I wanted to spend time looking at. It was cool to see 'The Thinker' up close after studying it for so long.

Perfect for art lovers

I did this tour with my husband, it was our second Private Tour in Paris and it was unforgettable! Both my husband and I are really into Rodin's work and have been to the collection in Philadelphia on our own last year. Visiting this one with our guide made it even better! We had lots of questions answered by our amazing and knowledgeable guide. We stayed a little longer after to explore. Would highly recommend!
