Itinerary
Meet your guide at Barcelona North Bus Station
Your day begins near Barcelona North Bus Station, where you meet your guide and small group. Check in, get a quick outline of the schedule, and board the air-conditioned bus.
Travel to Montserrat and ride the cogwheel train
Leave Barcelona and drive through the Catalonian countryside toward the rocky peaks of Montserrat. At the base of the mountain, switch to the cogwheel train, which climbs steeply to the monastery with wide views over the valley.
Visit the Montserrat Monastery and basilica
At the top, your guide leads you through the monastery complex and basilica. Learn how this 11th-century site became a symbol of Catalan faith and hear the story of the Black Madonna statue that draws pilgrims here.
Enjoy free time at Montserrat
After the guided visit, enjoy free time to explore on your own. Walk to a nearby lookout for wide views over the cliffs and valley, or stay near the plaza to visit the small market and try local cheeses and other products.
Taste tapas and wine at an organic winery
Leave the mountain and drive to a nearby organic winery surrounded by vineyards. Walk between the vines and through the cellar as you learn how the wines are made, then sit down for a light tapas-style lunch paired with three regional wines from the estate.
Your tour finishes at Barcelona North Bus Station
After lunch and the tasting, ride back to Barcelona North Bus Station on your air-conditioned bus. The tour ends here, leaving you free to continue your evening in the city with Montserrat’s views and flavors still fresh on your mind.

Accessibility: Unfortunately, this tour is not wheelchair accessible due to uneven terrain.

Alcohol Consumption: The tour includes wine tasting. Participants must be 18 or older to drink alcohol in Spain.
Please Note: This tour includes the cogwheel train but does not include the Sant Joan Funicular train. Due to long lines for the Black Madonna (Moreneta), there usually isn't enough time to see the statue on this specific tour.
Check-in: Arrive 15 minutes early for check-in at the meeting point so the group can begin the tour on time.

Outstanding and unforgettable! Incredibly beautiful, better then our visit to Gibraltar. Skipping the line into the sanctuary was amazing and gave us time for more exploring. The ride up on the cog-wheel train was really cool, especially for a train buff like me. And the ride to the winery for tapas and wine tasting was filled with beautiful views of the mountain and the surrounding countryside. The tapas were great, traditional and plentiful, and the wines great. But the true highlight was Lesly, our personal guide. I've taken tons of tours on my 30+ cruises and she was one of the best! Her knowledge and love of Catalonian history and culture was tremendous and made the trip amazing. She's a superstar!

Delph our tour guide made this one of the best tours ever! She had so much information to share including which cheese to buy at the pop-up market outside of the Cathedral which wine to buy at the winery Very smart young woman who knew the complete history of the area and loved sharing it with us ! This was truly a memorable day. It was a painless ride up to Montserrat on am immaculately clean bus. Our guide, Xavier, provided an overview of the history of Catalonia starting with the Romans right up to the present on the ride up to Montserrat. It was incredibly well presented and very informative. When we arrived at the mountain, we took the tram up to Abbey which was an amazing ride. It was crystal clear day so the views were breathtaking. We then started to the tour with Xavier providing insights and history of of Abbey. We then toured the basilica which was extraordinary- seeing the Black Madonna was inspirational. After concluding the visit to Abbey, we left by bus and traveled down the mountain. The views of the snow capped Pyrenes mountain range was breathtaking. We then went for the Oller del Mas winery for tapas and wine tasting. Xavier brought us into the vineyard and describe the unique process that winery grows and makes wine. We then went into stone enclosed room and had delicious tapas and tasted three (3) different wine selections. Xavier provided a detailed descriptions of the wine and really brought the experience to life. We then traveled back to Barcelona. In ending this review, I want to highlight how much Xavier made the day - he was extraordinarily funny, incredibly knowledgeable and seem to be genuinely interested that everyone was having best experience possible. As you can tell, it was really a special day for our family. This tour is a must!

Carlos was excellent. The best excursion guide we have ever had. Very personable and great communication skills. Gave a great presentation of the wines! It wasn't the usual color, legs, oaky taste, etc. Excellent.
