Itinerary
Your tour begins at the New Hotel
Meet your guide outside New Hotel in central Athens and join your small group in the minibus. As everyone settles in, your guide outlines the plan and points out major landmarks on the drive.
Visit the Panathenaic Stadium
Ride over to the Panathenaic Stadium, the only arena in the world built entirely of marble. Step out for photos while your guide explains how it hosted the first modern Olympic Games in 1896.
Watch the changing of the guards
Head to Syntagma Square to see the Parliament Building and Presidential Palace. From a good vantage point, you watch the Evzones, Greece’s elite ceremonial guards, perform the changing of the guards and learn how the ritual connects to modern Greek history.
See the Athens Trilogy
Back in the minibus, follow the route past the Athens Trilogy: the University of Athens, the Academy of Athens, and the National Library. Your guide highlights the neoclassical façades and explains how these institutions helped shape modern Greek education and culture.
Stroll through Plaka and Monastiraki
Then it is time to explore on foot through Plaka’s village-like streets and Monastiraki’s lively market squares. You pass tavernas, shops, and stalls while your guide shares tips on where to eat, shop, and people-watch later.
Photo stop at the Ancient Agora
As you continue walking, pause near the Ancient Agora for a photo stop with the Temple of Hephaestus in view. Your guide describes how this former marketplace once served as the political and social center of classical Athens.
Climb up to the Acropolis
Finally, use your skip-the-line Acropolis tickets to walk up the hill to Athens’ most famous ruins. Along the way, you see the Propylaea, Temple of Athena Nike, Parthenon, and Erechtheion while hearing the myths and history tied to each one.
Your tour finishes back at the New Hotel
After exploring the Acropolis, return to the minibus for a short ride back to the New Hotel. Your guide shares suggestions for where to eat, shop, or wander next, so you can keep exploring Athens for the rest of your trip.

The Tour Guy tour experience was excellent. Very well othanized, small size group with a very affable and knowledgable guide who was easy to understand. The tour included several well timed stops and hit what we felt was a perfect mix, without going over the top on little details. The tour included an ear bud to allow you to hear everything even while you were in an ovcasional busy setting. We highly recommend the Tour Guy and will use them in other locations. Rob W.

The tour and guides were amazing, both are archeologists continuing advanced degrees. They were very knowledgeable and passionate about the history and culture. They were very patient, positive and respectful of the group and our individual paces…it’s hot and moderate walking/steps!

It was a great way to see Athens quickly. We had limited time and this was a nice way to see lots of things in half a day with someone very knowledgeable. Be prepared for the Acropolis, it was hot and the climb was not easy but worth it.

Great tour of the highlights of Athens with an intense walking tour of the Acropolis. We learned a lot of history of Athens. Highly recommend this over any of the hop on and off tours. You get more info on this 1/2 day tour.

Our Acropolis guide was phenomenal, our van guide was excellent. Our group of eight delighted in their historical knowledge--George really did fantastic giving the history of Greece and Athens leading up to the creation of the Parthenon and other temples. The city tour was great as well, the changing of the guard at the Parliament Building, the original Olympic stadium and the walking tour were all well done. A++, would recommend to everyone.

My flight to Athens arrived early in the morning. Thus, I had plenty of time to spare before I checked in at my hotel. I decided to book this tour to make good use of the free time I got. I'm glad I did. I was able to see and experience the best of Athens in just a few hours. It was an awesome experience. There were only 3 of us in the group for the tour, which was great. The tour guides for both the city tour and The Acropolis, were wonderful. The driver of the van was nice. I am highly recommending this tour for everyone, especially for first time Athens visitors, like me. I even will book it again myself on the next time I will visit Athens. This time around with my whole family. Thank you very much My Tour Guy.

We were met on time with Athena our guide. Boarded a new Mercedes Benz Shuttle. Excellent experience all around. At the end of the tour we were given the option of leaving as were closer to our hotel.
