Your day begins outside the entrance of the grand Palazzo Brera. Formerly a palace, religious institution, and Jesuit college, the building now holds the great collection of the Brera Gallery. Your art historian guide will lead you into the courtyard beginning your tour of Milanese art and culture.

As you enter the courtyard of the Gallery, see the bronze copy of Canova's Napoleon as Mars the Peacemaker. Learn about the controversy of this statue, both the original and this specific copy that was cast in 1811. Sculpted from the cannons of Castel Sant Angelo, these statues angered 19th century leaders from Pope's to Kings. Your expert guide will describe this incredible story in full.
