Itinerary
Meet your guide in central Budapest
Your full-day journey begins with a departure from the EUrama office. Board a comfortable, air-conditioned bus with your guide to begin the drive toward the Danube Bend.
Cross the Mária Valéria Bridge
Cross the Mária Valéria Bridge, a significant iron structure spanning the Danube that links Hungary and Slovakia. Pause on the Slovak side of the river for a 15-minute photo stop to see Esztergom and the river valley.
Esztergom and the Basilica
Next, drive to Esztergom, a city known as the historic seat of the Catholic Church in Hungary. Receive a guided tour of the city, visiting the colossal Esztergom Basilica, the largest neoclassical church in the country.
Visegrád Hill and lunch
The journey continues to Visegrád, the site of the former Royal Residence. Stop for a delicious 3-course Hungarian lunch near the scenic hill before enjoying free time to capture the remarkable panoramic views of the curving Danube Valley.
Guided walk through Szentendre
After lunch, the tour arrives in Szentendre, a picturesque Artists' Village settled by Serb refugees in the 17th century. Your guide leads a comprehensive walk through the quaint downtown area, showcasing its Baroque architecture.
Return to Budapest by boat or bus
Your return to the capital is either by public river boat, which runs on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during the long summer season, or by air-conditioned bus on Wednesdays and other days in winter. The boat ride offers a scenic, hour-long transfer back to the city.
Your tour finishes at the Vigadó tér pier
Your day trip ends at one of two designated drop-off locations in the Budapest city center: the EUrama office or the nearby Vigadó tér pier. Arrive refreshed for an amazing day trip with easy access to the heart of the city.
