Important Details
You'll meet your Madrid foodie guide in San Miguel Square, and with a small group you'll set off to find the best tapas that Madrid has to offer. You'll walk through the streets of the La Latina neighborhood as you learn about Madrid's unique culinary history, and soon you'll be at the first of three incredible tapas stops, where you'll sample a local specialty paired with wine, beer, or sangria.
You'll continue to Plaza Mayor, Barrio de las Letras, and Plaza de Santa Ana, and at the end of the evening tour you'll stop at a rooftop bar for great city views and a delicious drink.

La Latina Neighborhood
This food tour begins in San Miguel Square from where your passionate guide will lead you through the La Latina neighborhood. Your route includes the lively Cava Baja and Cuchilleros streets which are home to many of Madrid's finest tapeo (tapas) bars.
On this Madrid tapas tour, you'll get to sample food and wine specialties from Spain. Your taste buds will travel beyond the simple dishes and experience authentic delicacies beloved across Iberia.
Your First Tapas Bar
Along your walking tour, you'll stop in at a selection of much-loved local taverns to try some of the small plate dishes that are adored by Madrileños. For your first stop, choose between delicious stuffed mushrooms or padrón peppers. Pair your mouthwatering tasting with your choice of wine, beer, or sangria.
Casa de comidas (Traditional bar stop)
At your next stop, your guide will bring you to an authentic local spot, where you will enjoy a delicious assortment of ham and Iberian sausages. For vegetarians, a wonderful selection of artisan cheeses will be served instead of meats. Of course, your tasting will be paired with fine, local wines. Then sample traditional Carrilleras, or meat cheeks and indulge in a typical shrimp with garlic dish, which will be served in a traditional terracotta or clay dish.
Following this decadent tasting, stroll through the Plaza Mayor and Barrio de las Letras, where famous poets and artists spent the best years of their lives. Your foodie guide will share a narrative that brings this unique area to life
Rooftop Terrace Views, Wine, and More Tapas
To end your evening, you'll head to one of Madrid's many excellent rooftop bars. Can you think of a better ending than witnessing wonderful views of Madrid while enjoying a delicious glass of cava or sparkling sine? The Tapas tour with Augustin was amazing. We tried so many dishes that were on the “must try” lists for Madrid. Along the way, we learned about the culture and history of Madrid and Spain in general. Our tour group bonded so well, we went to a recommended nightclub and danced the night away together. What a great introduction to Madrid!

We had an excellent time touring around areas of Madrid and sampling various tapas and drinks. Our guide met us at our meeting spot outside the market and walked a short distance to our first spot. At each spot she gave us a history of the place and of the food we were about to sample. She even demonstrated how to eat our mushroom tapas with two toothpicks to not lose the topping. A fun time indeed! Along the way she pointed out her favourite places for those of us who were spending more time in Madrid. The selection of tapas and places we visited was perfect. Ending the evening on a rooftop bar was also very enjoyable. We highly recommend doing this tour.

This was our favorite tour that we did on our most recent trip to Europe! Our guide, Mariña, was friendly and knowledgeable and provided fun facts about Madrid. Each stop was better than the previous one and everyone in the small group on the tour was great. We ended up lingering in the roof top bar at the end, enjoying the company of our new found friends.

I didn't have much time to spend in Madrid, so I decided to go on this tour - and it turned out to be the best decision ever! Our guide, Laura, was truly amazing, providing insightful information and creating a delightful atmosphere throughout. The food exceeded expectations, with the carrillada being the highlight. And let's not forget the rooftop terrace – it absolutely took our breath away. If you find yourself in Madrid, this tour is an absolute must.
