Your tour begins at Javel-André Citroën
You’ll meet your guide Outside of Starbucks located at "2 Rue de la Pépinière, 75008 PARIS". After boarding together, you’ll travel about thirty-five minutes to Versailles Rive Gauche, where your guide prepares the group for the day ahead.
Retrieve your bicycles
Once in Versailles, you’ll follow your guide to the bike pickup point near the gardens. Here you’ll collect bikes and helmets, grab any last-minute water at the nearby café, and learn how the route flows across the sprawling grounds.
Versailles’ outdoor market
Next, you’ll bike to the open-air market, a lively square lined with stalls of cheese, fruit, baguettes, and cured goods. You’ll have time to choose picnic items (food not included in the price of tour) while your guide offers tips on regional specialties and points out local vendors.
Ride to the Grand Canal
After leaving the market, the ride continues toward the Grand Canal, the seventeenth-century waterway designed by André Le Nôtre. You’ll pause for a photo stop as your guide explains how the canal once hosted elaborate court festivities for Louis XIV.
Picnic at the Grand Canal
This is your break to relax and enjoy the food you purchased. Settle along the upper edge of the water, where broad lawns frame striking views of the palace. It’s a calm moment to take in the scale of the estate before heading deeper into the royal grounds.
Explore the Trianon estates and Queen’s Hamlet
Next, you’ll cycle to the Grand Trianon, Louis XIV’s marble-lined retreat, for free time to wander its Baroque courtyards and quiet rooms. Then you’ll continue to the Queen’s Hamlet to explore its rustic cottages, lakeside paths, and, if time allows, the Petit Trianon’s neoclassical interiors.
Enter the Chateau de Versailles
Finally, you’ll return your bikes and walk to the palace for timed entry. You’ll explore the Chateau independently, moving through gilded salons and formal halls at your own pace. After your visit, you may stay on the grounds or take any train back to Paris when ready.

Please Note: Bring extra cash to purchase your own food and drinks at the outdoor market for the picnic lunch.
Accessibility: Unfortunately, this tour is not wheelchair accessible. If you have concerns about your mobility, we suggest taking a Private Golden Versailles Palace and Garden Tour.
Dress Code: Flat, comfortable shoes are strongly recommended due to extensive walking, parquet floors inside the palace, and cobblestone paths in the gardens.
Bag Policy: Large bags, backpacks, and luggage are not allowed on this tour.
Tour Changes: The Palace of Versailles can close without notice for official state events; in such cases, then we will be in touch with an alternative plan.
ID Requirement: Please bring a valid government-issued ID.
Check-in: Arrive 15 minutes early for check-in at the meeting point so the group can enter sites on time.

My daughter and I booked this tour last minute. We weren't sure if we were even going to visit Versailles on this trip. We've been talking about it since we got home! Firstly, it's a great way to see the grounds of Versailles and the Queen's Hamlet (which we loved better than Versailles). But our guide, Joe, is what made the entire trip for us. He was funny, he was kind, he was caring, he had us all singing (and we still have one of his songs stuck in our head). He gave us a really interesting lesson as well. I can't even describe how fun much fun he made this tour. Our entire group was taking pictures with him at the end and hugging goodbye. Absolutely take the tour!

We enjoyed such a spectacular day! We had the best guide & the weather was perfect! Our guide shared an incredible amount of history about France and the Palace- we were literally hanging on his words. The food from the market was all delicious! We are so glad we scheduled this bike tour for our family of five (our kids are 12, 12, and 14). Our kids all fit the adult bikes with the seats adjusted lower, and I noticed a 10 year old on our tour was able to use a smaller type of bike. We first stopped off site at the Versailles market to pick up our lunch, which was such a fun experience in itself. The ride was gorgeous all over the grounds of Versailles. We stopped and toured a couple of outer estates that were beautiful. Our guide Antoine was excellent and our kids thought he was so much fun, he was great with them. It was an adventure we will always remember very fondly. Thank you!!

We had a great experience on our early Sunday bike tour. The train ride to the short distance walk to bikes was seamless. We were lucky enough o explore the local marke which happens a few days a week. Our guide brought us to a few local vendors to sample some yummy cheeses and sausages,where we put chased our picnic lunch.

Went on the Versailles bike tour- our guide was SO much fun! It was a wonderful day exploring the grounds, the bikes were easy, and our guide was incredibly knowledgeable! It was a very full day, we were exhausted by the time we visited the interior of the palace but all so worth it! Bikes have panniers so you can carry your stuff. Guide had a wine opener, cups, etc. so lunch had no obstacles. Do this! You won’t regret it!!

We did the bike tour as a family of five, and it was the highlight of our trip! My youngest daughter was 10 and they had a smaller bike for her. Our guide was fantastic and we felt very safe and taking care of the whole time. One of the best parts was the market where we really felt like true Parisians shopping for our picnic lunch. Can’t recommend this tour any higher!

If you’re only looking for a tour of the palace this may not be the tour for you, but if you’re looking for a lovely relaxing day then you will not be disappointed.

We had an amazing day with Michael. Our eight year old said he was engaging and asked lots and lots of questions…that’s just the beginning. He was wonderful with the kids, great with the adults, and informative all around. He was an expert bike repairman, knowledgeable historian, and wonderfully supportive tour guide. We learned so much, spent a beautiful day at Versailles, and truly experienced a day to remember. We’d highly recommend this tour to anyone!

We loved the tour! We had so much fun hearing from our guide and the vendors at the local market and then picking our lunch items. The bike selection was easy and short ride to the palace gardens was fun. It’s was windy but sunny, the perfect day to enjoy the grounds with little or no crowd. The tours of the surrounding buildings and then onto the main palace was a bonus- thank you for. a wonderful trip! I highly recommend!
