Meet your guide at the Colosseo metro
Your tour begins behind the green souvenir kiosk outside the Colosseo metro station, where your private guide waits to start your adventure. Receive your treasure maps and learn the rules of the hunt before heading toward the massive stone arches of the world's largest amphitheater.
Explore the Colosseum levels
Inside this iconic arena, your children will search for Roman numerals and ancient graffiti while learning about the gladiators who once fought here. Visit the first and second tiers to see where emperors sat and discover how the Romans staged epic battles for thousands of spectators.
Walk the Via Sacra
Next, follow the ancient "Sacred Way" into the heart of the Roman Forum, the bustling center of daily life 2,000 years ago. Your guide uses the ruins to paint a picture of busy markets and grand processions, keeping the kids engaged with clues hidden among the fallen columns.
Discover the Eternal Flame
The treasure hunt leads you to the Temple of the Vesta, where a sacred flame was kept burning for centuries by the Vestal Virgins. Explore their beautiful gardens and learn about the important women who guarded this site, checking off more symbols on your map as you go.
Visit the Temple of Caesar
Follow your guide to the famous Temple of Julius Caesar, a site still honored by visitors today. Hear the story of Rome's most famous leader and see how the ancient streets were built to last through the ages.
Your tour finishes at the Roman Forum
Your tour concludes inside the historic forum grounds after the final clues are solved and the treasure hunt is complete. At the end of the tour, each child will receive a little prize to reward them for completing the treasure hunt, and to remind them of their Ancient Roman adventure!

Good to know:
Dress Code: Comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes are recommended, as you’ll be walking on uneven terrain.
ID Requirement: A valid government-issued ID is required to enter the Colosseum. The name on your ticket must match your ID or entry may be denied.
Accessibility: As this is a private tour, the itinerary can be accommodated to be wheelchair or mobility accessible. Please contact us, after making the booking, to make the proper arrangements. The Colosseum has very steep stairs, if you expect to need to use the elevator on this tour, please contact us in advance, so the guide can prepare accordingly.
Strollers: We recommend a soft baby carrier over stroller due to the uneven terrain.
Tour Changes: Depending on the assigned entry time for the Colosseum, your tour might enter the Roman Forum first and end in the Colosseum. It is also possible this tour might run in reverse. Either way, you’ll enjoy the full experience with your guide.
Children: All visitors, regardless of age, need a ticket for the Colosseum. Each child’s ticket must match their government-issued ID. Passports are recommended.
Disability certification: Visitors with valid disability certification are eligible for a reduced €2 entry ticket to the Colosseum, which also applies to one companion. Contact us after booking to arrange this. This applies to the ticket cost only, not the tour price.
Bag Policy: For quicker entry, please leave large backpacks and wheeled bags at your accommodation as they aren’t permitted inside the Colosseum. All bags will be screened at security.
Lines: This tour includes group access to the Colosseum, allowing you to skip the main lines for individual visitors. You’ll still pass through a security check before entering, which may involve a short wait.

Raphaela was super great with our small group. She paid special attention to our young son to make the exploration of the colosseum a really fun day for him. Her detailed knowledge of the history really improved our experience. Great tour for the family, would definitely recommend!

Eleonora was a gem, and my son and I were lucky to explore the Colosseum and Forum with her. She was extremely knowledgeable and very interactive. The book that she gave to my son at the beginning of the tour was a ‘tour stopper’ , as other groups without one were asking to use his. Haha. A great morning we will never forget. Cheers!

Raphaella was our guide today, for myself and my 11-year old twins; she was great! Firstly she was very knowledgeable, balancing a mix of interesting trivia which was geared toward my children and also serious historical information. She was adaptable, positive and kept things moving at a pace which we appreciated. I would recommend the Tour Guy and Raphaella especially!

Valentina was a wonderful tour guide. Of the 5 tour guides we had on our trip, many with more pricey operators (Context) she was the best. Valentina was very knowledgeable about her subjects (Colosseum, Forum) and willing to be flexible with us and our desire to see more (we went up to the terraces of the Palatine Hill). She was patient and very engaging with the kids. Valentina also was willing to be flexible and spend more than the allotted time with us to explain the full Forum and to help us with a lost item. Valentina does have a slight accent (& sometimes spoke quickly) so my younger daughter missed a couple things at the beginning before she got accustomed. The kids will never forget the details she shared on the types of rocks used to build the Colosseum, the elevators, arena floor, headstones, and- in the Forum- the spot where Julius Caesar was cremated. She was knowledgeable to answer every question they had. Thanks Valentina!
