Departure from Vlychada Marina

Following a convenient pickup from your accommodation in central Santorini, your delightful afternoon at sea begins at 3:30 pm from the scenic Marina of Vlychada, situated on Santorini's southern coast. This marina is an ideal starting point for exploring the nearby beaches and dramatic volcanic landscapes, many of which are accessible only by boat. Soon, you'll find yourself comfortably aboard the spacious catamaran and gliding into the open waters of the Aegean Sea. As the majestic cliffs sculpted by the wind recede into the distance, listen closely as your expert guide shares an enticing overview of the experiences that wait ahead.

Beaches & Bays

Before long, you’ll be cruising past Santorini's striking landscapes and stopping at secluded beaches and bays. Each location offers a unique introduction to the island’s natural wonders and volcanic history, and thanks to your expert crew, you’ll enjoy a well-rounded overview of each. At the famous Red Beach, marvel at the crimson-colored rocks that hint at the island’s eruptive past, and at White Beach, discover pumice stones that were once intensely injected from the same eruption.

Next, continue to the secluded Mesa Pigadia. Having remained off the main tourist trail, this serene beach is an excellent place to pause and explore its colorful underwater world. With snorkeling gear provided, you can dive right into waters brimming with marine life, including sea urchins, sea turtles, and starfish. In addition, watch as tropical fish play amongst volcanic rock formations, and if you’re lucky, there’s even a chance to spot dolphins.

Dramatic Volcanic Landscapes

Back on board, you’ll bid farewell to the dreamy bay and set your sights on the towering cliffs of the Caldera Coast. On the way, learn how the surrounding landscapes were formed around 1600 BCE by one of the largest volcanic events in recorded history. You’ll also want to keep an eye out for the intriguing Indian Rock, a naturally formed rock sculpture that strikingly resembles the profile of a Native American, as well as the 19th-century Akrotiri Lighthouse. As you continue sailing along the Caldera Coast, you'll take the opportunity to soak in the therapeutic waters of a natural hot spring, where thermal and volcanic mud waters offer a unique spa-like experience.

Sunset Dining

By now, the soft light of the late afternoon will be enhancing the already beautiful cliff-perched, whitewashed houses and blue-domed churches cascading down the Caldera Coast. And since it's hard to pry your eyes away, your captain will pull into a secluded bay and drop anchor. Here, the choice is yours to hop in for another swim or laze on the spacious deck of the catamaran.

Either way, the onboard chef will be hard at work prepping dinner, and soon, you'll sit down with your fellow passengers for a delectable feast of Greek specialties. Sip wine and enjoy one another's company as the sky fills with vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows. Then, as the evening draws to a close, sail back to the Marina of Vlychada. You can expect to return around 8:30 pm, feeling enriched from a superb day at sea. At port you'll find a comfortable mini-van waiting for you to bring you back to your hotel.
