Itinerary

Your tour begins at Sonnenstrasse 1, Munich

Arrive at Karlsplatz (Stachus) and walk along Sonnenstraße to the Fielmann store. Meet your English-speaking guide, get settled on the coach, and head south toward the Bavarian Alps.

Drive into the Bavarian Alps

Settle into a comfortable coach ride as Munich gives way to alpine valleys and steep, forested slopes. Along the way, your guide shares information on Bavaria’s scenic nature district, Berchtesgadener Land, and why this corner of Germany shaped so much twentieth-century history.

Visit the Obersalzberg Documentation Center

At Obersalzberg, you have time to explore the Documentation Center, a museum documenting the area's past as the key power center of the Nazi dictatorship and Adolf Hitler’s southern headquarters. Entry tickets are not included on the tour, but can be purchased on site. Roam the exhibits and archives at your own pace, before you continue higher into the mountains.

Ride up to Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus)

Next, board a specialized mountain bus and ride a historic brass elevator to reach the Kehlsteinhaus, a building commissioned as a 50th birthday gift for Adolf Hitler. A cash entry fee will need to be paid on-site to access the bus and elevator. Perched on a rocky outcrop 1,834 meters high, this former diplomatic retreat now serves as a restaurant and viewpoint. You’ll look out over jagged peaks while learning how the structure survived the war.

Explore Berchtesgaden town

After the mountain stop, head into Berchtesgaden, a historic market town near the Austrian border, for a short guided walk and free time to browse shops or pick up souvenirs. The setting is postcard-pretty, with onion-dome rooftops and mountain scenery framing the streets.

Your tour ends at Sonnenstraße 1, Munich

In the late afternoon, you return to central Munich at the same meeting point near Karlsplatz (Stachus). Step off the coach with alpine views, WWII insight, and Berchtesgaden’s mountain-town charm still top-of-mind.
