Your tour begins at Munich Central Station
Meet your guide at the designated meeting point at München Hauptbahnhof to begin your tour. You will receive your transport tickets and a brief introduction to the historical significance of the day ahead before boarding the short 20 minute train and bus ride toward the town of Dachau.
Walk the roll-call square and camp street
Enter the memorial site through the gatehouse to stand on the vast roll-call square. Your guide will explain how prisoners were forced to assemble here daily and describe the layout of the camp street, which served as the central axis for the entire facility during the Nazi regime.
Explore the barracks and bunkers
Step inside the reconstructed barracks to see the cramped living conditions endured by those imprisoned here. You will also visit the bunker, which served as the camp prison, to learn about the different categories of prisoners and the disciplinary measures used by the SS guards.
Visit the crematorium and gas chambers
Follow the path to the wooded area containing the former crematorium and "Barrack X." This section of the tour is handled with the utmost sensitivity as your guide explains the atrocities committed here and the camp's role as a "school of violence" for the Nazi system.
Reflect at the International Memorial
Pause at the International Memorial to honor the victims of the Holocaust. This site provides a quiet space to process the day’s learnings and reflect on the liberation of the camp by Allied forces in 1945 before preparing for the return journey.
