Your tour begins at Foster Street, Galway
Meet your guide in Galway City Centre on Foster Street, just outside the Hyde Hotel. Arrive at least 15 minutes early, then settle into your seat as you leave this lively Atlantic-side city for the open landscapes of Connemara in western Ireland.
Drive past River Corrib and into Connemara’s lake country
Travel through Oughterard, a small village on the edge of Lough Corrib, a vast lake fed by the River Corrib, one of Galway’s main waterways. The scenery quickly shifts from town streets to peat bogs, stone walls, and wide valleys that feel miles from the modern world.
Pass Maam Cross and climb into the Twelve Bens region

Your tour ends at Galway City Centre
Return via Salthill (Galway’s seaside promenade area) and Barna (a coastal village just outside the city), arriving back in Galway in the early evening. You’ll finish close to the city centre with time to head straight to dinner, ask your guide for a recommendation.

Diamond Hill hike: You’ll have 2 hours of independent time to hike Diamond Hill. Choose from 3 routes and manage your time carefully. The coach and driver cannot wait beyond the allotted 2 hours.
Weather Advisory: Connemara weather can shift quickly between sun, mist, and rain in any season. Please dress in layers and bring a waterproof jacket so you can enjoy the outdoor stops in any conditions.
Food: Food is not included. You’ll have opportunities to buy something small in Leenane, near Letterfrack, or at the tea rooms/café at the national park.
Check-in: Arrive 15 minutes early for check-in at the meeting point so the group can depart on time.
