Ultimate Palace of Versailles Tour from Paris

A good overall introductory tour to the Palace and Gardens

We had a different meeting point due to the Olympics, but we were able to find it without problems. Because we arrived early, we were permitted to join an earlier group than originally scheduled for us. The bus ride to Versailles was uneventful and the drop off/pick up instructions were clear. Upon arrival, the bus was split into smaller groups of a dozen each. Our guide provided us with tour headsets and receivers. After ticketing and a restroom stop, we proceeded to walk through the palace for about an hour. The crowds packing into each gallery were so large that it was difficult to see and hear our guide, despite her attempts to isolate our group. The crowds also made it challenging to see the displays, read placards, or take photos. I'm not sure if visiting at a different time would have made a difference. The tour concluded with a brief introduction to the Gardens. We had 40 minutes to explore on our own before re-boarding the bus for our return trip.

Just enough

Our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly and the time of the tour was just right. But just be aware that there can be a lot of people so probably I would suggest doing the earliest tour.

Wow!

The Tour Guy is an impressive company. We have done many tours with them and are always happy! The Versailles tour was wonderful. Our guide, Anastacia, was very knowledgeable, kind and efficient. We learned a lot and wished we had more time to explore the gardens. This is a great tour!

An incredible place and tour

Catherine was my tour guide. She was very nice and did an amazing job. The palace and gardens were breath taking. Catherine was very knowledgeable and I leave here with lots of knowledge I didn't have before. This was my first time doing a tour with The Tour Guy. I look forward to tomorrow's Paris in a day tour with you guys, and my Rome in a day tour in a couple weeks.

Great tour, fantastic guide. She made it fun and relatable. My 12 year old son was engaged the whole time. Wow!

Great tour!

Malcolm was our guide for Versailles. He met us at the bus at the meeting point. He knew so much, had skip the line access, knew his history, and made it come alive for us. He even had a folder of related things to show us to help. The other guides we encountered also had respect for him. He was full of energy and knowledge and was always ready to answer questions. He seemed to have so much knowledge about the palace and it’s history.

It was an enjoyable experience

The guide was the best part of what was a stressful experience. We were 25 mins early as requested but the bus left 20 mins late. It was unseasonably hot in Versailles and we had to stand in the sun for a good bit since out “appoint time” to enter was 11:15 for a 10:45 arrival. We were told to be back at the bus at 1:30 but when we walked up at 1:16 the bus was driving away. Poorly communicated. However, the guide was delightful and the tour itself was informative and well led. Given the huge crowds at Versailles in June I highly recommend a tour but advise clients to be hyper inquisitive about details once the program begins.

Neve was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and happy to answered all questions anyone asked. She made the tour so much more enjoyable. I highly recommend her as a guide

Bus No Show, Waited in Hot Sun

The tour was good but the bus at the end of the tour was a no show. There were four parties waiting before the 3:00 pick up time and the bus never came. One of the gentlemen in the group got a hold of the office and they said that we all "missed the bus" and that it left "promptly at 3:00." That just isn't true. Multiple people walked the whole perimeter of the bus loading area, starting around 2:45 until after 3:00, looking for the Tour Guy bus/sign/logo anything but it wasn't there. At least an apology or honest explanation would have been appreciated. Most of us sat there in the hot sun waiting for the next bus at 4:00. I know one couple took the train back. We had other things planned for the afternoon that we had to cancel by the time we got back into town.
