Your tour begins at Caffè Elena at Piazza Vittorio Veneto 5, a prestigious patisserie where you meet your guide. You will step into the elegant 19th-century atmosphere to enjoy a bicerin, the city’s famous layered drink of espresso, chocolate, and cream.
Walk through Baroque splendor
Explore the grand expanse of Piazza Vittorio Veneto, one of the largest squares in Europe. You will follow your guide past the Church of Gran Madre di Dio and learn how the surrounding architecture and noble history helped turn chocolate into a local art form.
Discover an ancient apothecary
Next, you will stop outside Algostino & Demichelis, one of the oldest pharmacies in the city center. You will learn about the fascinating connection between early medicinal practices and the development of the high-quality confectionary arts that Turin is famous for today.
Join a chocolate workshop
Then, enter a specialized bistro for an immersive chocolate tasting session and workshop. You will sample organic dark chocolates made from rare Criollo beans and learn how iconic gianduja was first created by blending cocoa with local hazelnuts when chocolate was a scarce luxury.
