The view from the dome was definitely worth the climb. The tour guy was very energetic and he let us take some short breaks during the climb. He gave us plenty of time at the top of the dome to take in the view and pictures before we had to start the climb down. His commentary inside the basilica was also very informative.

We had a great tour with a superb guide. We went up to the dome, which was really great. Sadly, we had tickets for the museum at 9 o'clock, so we could only be at the top for two minutes, then abort the rest of the tour.

We enjoyed this tour and had a lovely, knowledgeable tour guide. The tour was exactly what we’d hoped for. The only drawback is that we spent 60 mins in the line to get into the Vatican, and 30 mins in the line to get into the Dome elevator. It’s not the tour’s fault but 50% of the 3h tour waiting in a line is frustrating.

Federica, our guide was THE BEST! She grew up in Rome and I loved how she personalized the tour with stories and memories of her childhood in Rome. Her love of Rome and enthusiasm for the history of Rome and Italy was wonderful. We were also really lucky with our tour as they broke us into small groups so there were only 5 people in our group with one guide. It was very personalized and private feeling.
I highly recommend the early morning tour during the summer when the weather is hot- not as crowded and the climb to the top of the dome was bearable as it was a little cooler. Altogether a really enjoyable tour with an amazing guide!
