Our guide was beyond fantastic. Her knowledge made the tour as impressive as the Vatican itself.

Nice tour but/and….

This is my second Vatican tour. First one was 15 years ago and was done by an audio tour. If I had to do it again would do the audio tour where i can pace myself and stay in rooms longer if i wanted to or breeze by other rooms. Our guide was knowledgeable but sometimes hard to understand as the ear pieces were finicky. I would skip the privileged entrance part - this got you nothing and wasted the first hour of the tour trying to gain entrance - waiting in longer lines, and was a bit unorganized. Though not the fault of the tour guide just the way it’s set up. Definitely do the regular Vatican and Sistine chapel tour. Many people in our group did not know this didn’t get you entrance to St Peter’s and so that should be made more clear. I only knew because i contacted them to ask. We had to buy a separate ticket for the Basilica and Dome.

Our small group was late getting to the meeting spot due to traffic through Rome. On the way there I called the "day of your tour" phone number and the person who answered contacted the onsite tour coordinator to let them know. They also explained the group could wait about 5 minutes, but would have to start if we weren't there, which was completely understandable (they said we could still enter on our own without waiting in the outrageously long line), which was completely understandable). Our driver dropped us off right at the meeting spot, we jumped out of the car, and immediately saw the Red TourGuy flag held up by the tour coordinator person. She quickly handed us our tickets then ran us over to another area where our tour guide was starting to lead the tour group in. We made it and enjoyed the tour! From the purchase of the tickets to the tour itself, the TourGuy was outstanding with communications, information, and overall accessibility. You could tell our guide loved what he spoke to us about and did a wonderful job keeping the group informed and together. Our overall experience with the TourGuy/RomanGuy was outstanding and felt personal even though we were one of many customers they serve; would definitely book through them again!

Marzia is amazing! Very knowledgeable, engaging with our group and giving us the fun facts that we will remember from the tour! I would totally recommend her and The Roman Guy tours!

Very Good. But not Excellent

The only reason this is not a 5 Star review is that it is just too hurried. I understand that they need to move large numbers of people through. And to have a knowledgeable guide was great. (When you could keep up to them to know exactly what piece they were talking about). But it is virtually impossible to really look at some things that catch your eye, on the guided tour, and still keep up with your group.

What a great way to see the highlights of the Vatican and navigate the crowds. Our guide Carolina was an expert in art history and we could ask her anything. She also solved problems like when my son lost his ticket. We got to go through a corridor only available to guided towers which was very cool. And we got to see St. Peter’s basilica without having to wait in another line.

We had a great experience with our tour guide. The tour was easy to book, easy to find our tour guide, and we didn't have to worry about anything. Our tour guide was very knowledgable, so much I have a new interest to learn more about certain parts of the tour. Vatican is HUGE so its a nice overview but he did say if you want to get into the details, you need several days to tour the Vatican. Def wear comfortable shoes, PAY for the Dome (which is beyond the tour), use the restrooms when the guide tells you, and bring a water bottle. ENJOY!!!!
