It’s a lot to fit in one day - Positano, Pompeii, limoncello tasting - especially when you’re starting from Rome. But from the start to the end tour guide Matteo made sure everyone was looked after and kept informed about all that we were seeing and doing, so much so that the day seemed to end all too quickly. A mention too to our driver (whose name escapes me) who coped with the Amalfi Coast roads admirably. And a special shout out to the driver of the minivan taking us out of Positano who, while coping with the roads, the drivers and the pedestrians, took a moment to point out a waterfall as we drove up the hill. All round a terrific day - thank you.

We were a little worried about trying to squeeze in Pompeii and Positano /Amalfi Coast on a 1 day 14 hour day trip from Rome. But we did it! Early start at 6:45 from Piazzale Ostiense. It was a cool and cloudy start as the day got hotter. The trip is 7-8 total hours on the bus with stops for stretches, Positano (1.5 hours), Pompeii (3 hours). We got lucky as there were only 18 tourists. So we had a minibus vs a giant coach. Nico was our excellent driver through the narrow windy roads of the coast. Paola was a blast as our tour guide. Bravo, Paola! Talked for hours to keep us informed and entertained. Long day but well worth it. It was overcast, so that helped with the heat as there is little shade in many parts of Italy cities and sites. Positano has to be seen as advertised. Pompeii is enriched with history frozen in time. We highly recommend this tour.

Overall, it was a great chance to see Positano and Pompeii. The time in Positano is so short that you can either have lunch (quick), shop or sit on the beach but not more than 1. It was nice so visit. We had a bonus stop quickly at a Limoncello factory which was great! The trip to Pompeii was just enough to see the major parts, not time to wander on your own. The drive back was long, but this was due to traffic. If you just want to eliminate the hassle of getting to see these places yourself, I’d recommend this tour. If you want to spend more time exploring, then plan a separate trip to each. Our guide was great, but unfortunately one on our tour talked so loudly to him the ENTIRE ride back that it was hard to rest and my head hurt from the 3 hours of nonstop loudness. Overall, not a bad tour to see the highlights!!
A Long Day. But Well Worth It.

Paola, our guide for the journey was friendly and informative. As for our driver, Antonello. He was beyond excellent for what he was tasked to deal with. Paola handed us off to another guide when we got to Pompeii. Veronica. She was local and passionate about passing on the information to us regarding many aspects of Pompeii living that you don’t get from books and pictures.

We happen to do this tour on an Italian holiday weekend… Which we did not realize when we booked it so Positano was very busy and the traffic getting there was pretty bad. We still had enough time to get down to the beach and touch the water as well as do a little bit of shopping in the town. After Positano we headed to Pompeii with much less traffic. We arrived later in the afternoon than expected, but this ended up being a blessing in disguise. Although we did not have quite as much time to wander around Pompeii on our own, we basically had Pompeii to ourselves. Our tour guide Sasha was absolutely amazing. He was so fun and shared so much information. He was dressed in a suit, which was impressive! We got to see one of the newest archaeological areas that opened which was the brothel and it was incredible. All of our photos are of empty streets in Pompeii or with just us… It was really an amazing experience to have the place to ourselves. Our tour operator on the bus was wonderful. He was easy to understand gave us little tidbits of info going out of Rome as well as other small spots along the drive. It’s a long day, and it was a little bit longer for us since the traffic was so bad. I recommend not planning anything else on the day you do this tour because it’s a lot in one day. I highly recommend this tour if you want to get a little bit more Italy exposure when staying in Rome. We were on a girls trip with four 40 year old women in good health. It’s a lot of walking and Positano is down hill to the beach and up hill to get back.

Are return bus ride to Roma went from 2.5 hrs to 4.5 hrs due to multiple car accidents. I wish we could have re-routed per WAZE to save time but driver keep to route and stop at Food/Shop stop. I would have opted to re-route and skip the Food/Shop stop that was very expensive. The tour itself was 5 stars.

The tour highlights for us was the Positano experience..a truly remarkable city built into a mountainside. The ruins at Pompeii was a fascinating story and a must see. Our tour guide Mario was great. Sadly the transportation miss the mark. We were provide a small van for this 13 hour trip, not a more comfortable van with toilet facilities

This was a good trip. The tour guide was difficult to understand at times. If you needed a bathroom, you had to ask every time and your guides seemed annoyed that you needed to go. It would have been nice to have some free time in Pompeii. Everything felt very rushed the whole day. I would have be willing to pay extra for a 2 day tour.
Amazing Day!

We had an amazing day! We started in Positano and had some time to explore on our own. Then we traveled to Pompeii. The history there was incredible. We recommend taking this tour. It was a long day, but well worth it!
