Berlin

Potsdam & Sanssouci Palace Tours from Berlin

Walk the terraced vineyard that Frederick the Great ordered cut into the hillside, or cover the whole palace park by bike instead

Frederick the Great named his summer villa Sanssouci, French for without worries, and had three terraces of vines cut into the hillside below it in 1744. UNESCO listed the palaces and parks of Potsdam in 1990. Both of these Potsdam tours run out from Berlin: a 5-hour half-day walking route through the Sanssouci gardens, and a 6.5-hour guided bike tour that covers far more of the grounds. Transport is included, so you are back the same evening.
